“Deep magic at Deep Forest!”

Deep Forest Cabins at Mt. Rainier

Dec 14, 2006

We stayed here for three nights in late September and wish we could have stayed longer. There is a sense of being wrapped in coziness the minute you step into the cabins here. We stayed in the Cedar Grove cabin. The glass wall was ideal for looking out at all the trees. And the hot tub! What can be said. Totally private, totally divine. We made sure to have our happy hour bottle of wine there every night. The cabin is small, but completely adequate and the bathroom is huge and even features a whirlpool tub -- but with the outdoor hot tub we didn't even use it. The gas fireplace only helps to increase the nestled-in feeling. One afternoon I was enjoying some hot chocolate on the deck and a deer walked so close to me that I could practically pet her on the head! We rented movies one night from the corner store down the road and just holed up in our woodland nest! Highly recommended and extraordinarily comfortable!

“Wonderful Cabins”

Deep Forest Cabins at Mt. Rainier

We stayed 2 nights at the Deep Forest Cabins which are just outside Mt. Rainier National Park. We stayed at the Mountain Home. It was immaculate and very well maintained. It has a hot tub, patio deck, gas fireplace, spiral staircase leading to a loft with a queen bed and a master bedroom. Unfortunately, due to the weather, we never used the hot tub. The decor is a forest motif, from the shower curtain hooks which are in the shape of trees, to the all green towels, to the sofa cushions with animals on them. The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances, pots, pans, dishes, paper towels etc. Even has coffee beans and a grinder so that you can grind your own coffee. A nice touch was that the sponge provided for dishwashing was brand new, still in its wrapper. Very hygenic. The second day it rained almost constantly and it was so nice to come back after a long day in the park, turn on the fireplace and sit and listen to the rain hitting the aluminum roof while drinking a glass of wine. The cabins are not close together so you have maximum space and privacy. The menu for 3 close by restaurants are in the living room. There is one pricey restaurant and one pretty reasonable mom and pop type at which we ate both nights. For the price, the food was good and filling, so were the pies made from scratch. The owner of the Deep Forest Cabins has carefullly thought out all details to make you comfortable and by the time we left, I felt I was leaving a home.
