Description: Under new management. One of the few restaurants (or at least decent ones) near the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. Very interesting--serves both traditional food (trout, sandwiches, etc.) and Nepali dishes. Best of the three places we tried when visiting Rainier.

“How delightful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014

What a gem of a find! The staff are friendly and place simple but authentic. The food is just amazing. The adults tried the Himalayan dish which was just to die for! We certainly got our fill and could not decided which item was better than another, they were all amazing. The kids had soup and a sandwich that could have fed an army. Great good, great portion sizes, unique and authentic. Looking forward to going back. By the way do not be concerned when you see the word curry, unlike some curries that are overwhelming, spice and an assult on your taste buds, the Himalayan curry is so pleasant, flavourful and not at all spicy. Great options for vegetarians also. Thumbs up for 3 adults and 2 kids (ages 4 and 7). Thank you for a great evening.

“Fun place-Friendly staff-varied menu.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

Was only .2 miles from where we stayed and very near entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. Would have preferred to be outside but tables were full.

“Great food!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

We loved not only the great food ( try the Nepalese dishes) but the ambiance and the fact that this family travels back to Nepal to cater folks for Everest. Staff was wonderful, food great....wish they were in my hometown!!! (-:

“Exactly what we wanted and good for the soul”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

Okay, first of all have you ever had food from Nepal? If not, here is your opportunity. Though our lunch entrees were American--club sandwich, turkey and cheese, and Greek salad (!) and perfectly made and served might I add--the real star of the meal was dessert! A lovely blackberry pie and kulfi, an over-the-top Nepalese ice cream with almonds, mango, and, a hint of cinnamon. So, I am a creme brûlée girl but this is my new favorite! The ice cream has a unique flavor and I will try very hard to find the "secret" recipe. On my next trip, I am going all in and ordering the full Nepalese meal. Why oh why are you not in Kirkland?? Very sweet, respectful service.

“Himalayas meet Rainier”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2014

A special end to a glorious day on the mountain...Nepalese dinner of homemade Momos and Samosas and Kulfi for dessert. Surrounded by a shady porch in the woods along the mountain road with Tibetan music playing the background. Couldn't ask for a more perfect union.
