Shipton under Wychwood isn't the first place you'd of think to stay in the Cotswolds as it isn't in the middle of a classic tourist spot, but it is cute and has three places to get good food - one only a few hundred yards away which was picturesque with very good food and friendly service.
Jean and John were very friendly and helpful and were able to advise my parents and I on the best spots to see in the Cotswolds - They even found out the answer to one of our questions and left the book open at the right page for us to find at breakfast!! Those little extras really make a visit. And breakfast was lovely...my only problem was that I ate too much of it.
Being a more recently built property, it may not be the quaintest B&B in the Cotswolds, but it was great not to have to struggle up narrow creeky staircases and duck under beams! Also for a winter break the heating is top notch and there won't be any annoying draughts!! The rooms were ideal for us and although the bathroom in shared, the rooms are all just across from it off a small landing it was perfect.
This place is excellent value and comfortable. From Shipton under Wychwood you can easily access the rest of the Cotswolds attractions but still come home in the evening to a peaceful village with good food and drink a short walk away. And without the usual touristy hustle and bustle and the warm welcome from Jean and John I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay!
