There were 8 of us and the pub was full, food was excellent and decent service as well, good selection of beers and the prices were reasonable, definitely recommended for a meal with family

“Holiday Lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2014

We visited Porthscato on a very showery day and had lunch at the Plume and Feathers. We were not disappointed, the food was very good, good choices with several fish dishes and all very tasty. The atmosphere was very friendly and we would highly recommend a visit.

A great meal at this very popular pub. Customers spilling out onto the street. Lovely, friendly staff and delicious food.

“great food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2014

I had the sea bass which was really tasty. The portions were very generous and everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and would definitely eat there again.

“bad start to holiday”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014

this was the first place we ate after an 8 hour drive to cornwall. Asking at the bar if we could book a table we were directed to ask the staff at the back of the pub "as I don't deal with bookings"......not the friendliness of cornish welcomes to start.

My wife and mum had the lamb cutlets both came out undercooked and had to be send back to be done longer.

My main issue though was the ridiculous portion sizes. I had a sliver of seabass which was nicely cooked but I could have eaten it in one go it was so small.....this was also accompanied by one and a half new potatoes.....literally, the samphire hoe I assume is freely and locally available so for £15 there wasnt a lot on my plate however fancy you stack it !

I would conclude this pub is living on its captive summer tourist trade and past glories, try the standard up the hill for a non pretentious friendly welcome and good home cooked great value and delicious sized portions, we wont be back
