Description: We are a 17th century traditional Cornish coastal pub, offering hand pull beers and great food. Colin & Paul Marriott, yes twins, you're not seeing double, took over the Plume from Graham Thomas in October 2013 after Grahams mighty 35 year reign and are indebted to him for his grace and support. His legacy of a friendly welcoming pub continues to be paramount. We are building a great team here at the Plume. With the refurbished 'Upper Deck' Dining room for relaxed dining and private functions

“Lovely pub in Cornish seaside village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2014

This is a cosy, beautifully decorated pub in a little seaside village. Sadly, we arrived just after the kitchen was closed but the other diners seemed very happy with their meals. The beer was perfectly kept. Having just walked 6 miles we needed both beer and food, so we resorted to an outstanding Cornish pasty from the shop opposite and returned for another pint. We hope to sample the fresh crab sandwiches another time!

“Bring back traditional pub food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2014 via mobile

Had booked for my birthday on the 19th April with family but reluctantly cancelled as the menu was so limited even most of what was advertised outside was not available please bring back traditional pub food .I have been going to this pub for years with my family and the staff are fabulous no complaints whatsoever it's just someone seems to want to turn the Plume into some sort of tourist Gastro pub. Dont forget the locals please we are here all year round.

“Tuesday night treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2014

A meal before film night at the Harbour Club. Party of 4, two had fish of the day - whole megrim sole with veg (£10=! excellent value, beautiful fish) , one had fishcake (real fish not just mash) and one fish pie cheesy topping good sauce and plenty of mixed fish. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. Nice atmosphere, not shabby chic, not smartly casual, but a relaxed well run place. The desert of brownie with salted caramel sauce and clotted was perfect. Definitely to be visited again.

“Brilliant food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2014

Fish of the day was excellent, good beer, friendly and attentive staff. Slight issue with speed of desserts, but that was due to a new person in the kitchens! Should be fine soon...

“Granny Susie says:Rather disappointing dinner”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014

We had dinner at The Plume on Friday, 25th April and were disappointed. They did not have a record of our booking, even though I had booked a week in advance and had specified the table we wanted. We were shown to the newly renovated upstairs bit where a rather sullen waitress took our order. She had written up the wrong fish on the 'Fish of the Day' whiteboard and some fellow diners unexpectedly were given sole instead of mackerel as a result. We had to ask several times for some water, then were presented with two glasses each at the same time! The food was underwhelming, overcooked egg inside a Scotch egg and a crab pasta dish which was uninteresting. The waiting staff seem to have have changed since our last visit a month before and we were told that they were trying out a new chef. Please bring back the one that you had in January, February and March as his dishes were delicious. We will be coming down again as we have bought a house there and the pub was one of the buying points for us!
