“Excellent Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2012

Stayed over New Year and couldn't fault our stay in any way. The room was clean and well equipped. We asked for recommendations for eating out and were directed to St Mawes which is around 5 miles away. Try the Rising Sun pub. Lovely food and reasonably priced.
Back at Trewithian Farm the cooked breakfast was superb. Didn't need lunch after such a great fry up. The African Grey at the bottom of the stairs was very entertaining too. Would definately stay again if we visit Cornwall.

I had a loveky wekcoming one night stay whilst walking the coast path, It was a welcome sight to find Trewithian Farm about a mile or so from Portscatho. I was made most welcome by Wendy the host and shown to my spacious room on the first floor up the widest staircase I've ever seen !
My room was spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed, TV and complimentary tray. Most rooms are ensuite but I had a huge private bathroom right next door; I wished they had knocked a door through from the bedroom to make it an ensuite. Lovely toiletries and soft fluffy towels.
Breakfast time is 8.30 -9am. I would have preferred an earlier breakfast and a little note to say this possibility, would have been most welcome in the guest information. The breakfast was delicious. There was a good selection of fresh fruit salad, yogurts and cereals followed by a lovely cooked breakfast. The poached eggs were perfect.
There is also a large guest lounge.

Basic clean bed-and-breakfast styled from a bygone era which was really overpriced in my opinion yes it meets the basic criteria for a four stadoubt it doesn't have a touch of home, it feels rough around the edges and breakfast is only between 830 and 9 all in all I rather not have stayed especially as nowhere to eat nearby and didn't have a car.

We are a family run bed and breakfast on a working farm, the house is 400 years old and a listed building and as such feel the decor is inkeeping, but I understand this is not to everyones taste. Our tariff is inline with other similarly styled properties in the area and in my own opinion not overpriced. As a working farm we are set in a rural area and understand that this does mean a walk of about 25 minutes to the nearest village but feel perhaps this should be investigated if arriving on foot before any reservation is made. We do offer breakfast in the dining room from 8.30 with the 'last orders' at 9 am but this is purely because it proved to be the most popular time and having said that we try to accommodate guests if they need an earlier or later breakfast by prior arrangement. However all that said I'm very sorry that the guest did not have a more enjoyable stay.

This B&B is in a really scenic location. You'd need a car as there's not much other than countryside within walking distance although Portscatho and St Mawes which are both gorgeous little places are nearby.

The owner / manager does not fuss around you but just lets you get on with it, which I prefer. The room we stayed in was huge and comfortable, breakfast was great. Although the room faced the road, it was not particularly busy and we didn't hear much noise from it.
