“Highly Recommend for Business Meetings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2006

Our company used one of their business conference rooms to conduct a very successful seminar. The staff was very courteous and ensured that all of our tech needs were met prior to the meeting. In addition, breakfast was very good!

I would definitely recommend local business to contact the Westin Governer Morris when planning small or large offsite meetings.

This is a nice hotel with great restaurant. It has all of what you would expect from a westin. The bathroom was a bit small, but service were good. Easy location for many offices and shopping.

  • Liked — Good location, good service
  • Disliked — bathroom was small

What a beautiful hotel. We got there and were immediately greeted by hotel employees. The front desk was very helpful and we got to our room quickly. After checking in, we went up to the pool they have. I would have to say it was one of the nicest pools I have ever enjoyed at a hotel. They had a happy hour at the martini bar in the hotel restaurant. The restaurant looked amazing so we decided to eat dinner there. Fantastic Seafood restaurant, and i found out that they have a New Jersey's "Best of the Best" award winning chefs. You could tell they did a $25 million dollar renovation because the lobby is beautiful and everything in the room looks new. They advertised for their heavenly beds, and they were right. Best night of sleep I have ever had in a hotel. Everything was so clean, it was truly a pleasure to stay there. I would not consider any other hotel when staying in the Morristown area.

My Husband I recently stayed at the Westin Governor Morris Hotel while we attended a wedding, also hosted at the hotel. The wedding was flawless but our night sleeping at the hotel was terrible.
The front desk was very nice-they accomodated my need to check in early very quickly and at first glance the room was quite nice. But, actually sleeping in the room was difficult. Not only was the hotel noisy the whole night but there was this annoying green light that flashed on the ceiling all night long. Every few seconds it would light up the whole room. After checking with the other guests, I am told this is consistent in all rooms.
The next morning the front desk had nothing to say about this and misdirected us to the wrong room where the brides family had set up brunch. We wondered around for ten minutes before we finally found it.
Very unhappy with our stay.

  • Liked — The Ballroom was beautiful
  • Disliked — The rooms!
  • Tips/Secrets — Cover up that green light on the ceiling, if you can.

I recently stayed at the hotel and was very disappointed. My room was very small and seemed a bit dingy. There were two beds but really no where to sit and relax. There was one chair that was pushed against the corner of the room and far away from the television and then a desk with a chair, which is where I "lounged" when I was in the room. Housekeeping was incredibly disappointing. The hallways were musty and dirty. It was definitely not what I would call a four star hotel.

On the plus side, the dual headed shower was heavenly and the hotel employees that I had direct contact with were very pleasant.

Any time I stay in Morristown, I stay here. The redesigned Westin is wonderful. I've been upgraded many times (as an SPG Platinum member), and the hotel staff is very attentive. The recently redesigned rooms are very nice (plasma TVs, pedestal bath tubs.. at least in the suites). The attached restaurant/martini bar is expensive , but very nice as well.

Stayed one night between Christmas and New Years. A bit eerie as this large hotel felt empty. Friendly staff and a huge, clean corner room. However, the room was strangely, or rather, minimally furnished. Only one chair to sit in other than the small desk chair. The chair and bed were far, far away from the TV. A tiny bathroom with only a shower...no tub. Fewer amenities than at area three-star Sheratons. No hotel information booklet. Not even coffee mugs for the coffee-maker...only two paper cups! Very clean, but certainly didn't feel like a four-star Westin. On the other hand there were two Bibles!
