My wife & 2.5 year old stayed here during Xmas and we found the rooms very dirty. The lobby, restaurant and bar are all remodeled and very nice, but the rooms needed the renovation first. There was so much dirt/dust/mold around the edges of the room. We moved a chair and the carpet underneath it was filthy. I inquired at the front desk for a renovated room and they did not have any. For $110.00 a night, I guess I didn't expect any better. The health club was a nice feature but it has since closed down. Oh yeah, the bed sheets were those kind that never tucked in. I was basically sleeping directly on the mattress. Worst 3 days of sleep I have had in a long time. I sent an email to the GM and never heard back. Very disappointed.

This Hotel has a few things going for it:
1- In downtown Morristown, there are lots of options for walking to local eateries and other local shopping.
2- The health club, which appears to cater primarily to local members, is as good as it gets, with comprehensive facilities.
3- Helpful staff.

Unfortunately, that's about it.

The room, though well appointed, could have used a bit of a facelift, e.g., stained grout in the bath. Also, at this price point for a business class hotel, one would expect a flatscreen TV.
Only two elevators were working (seems to be a common complaint), so I wound up taking the stairs a lot.
The lobby design was probably very "moderne" when built, but it seems pretentiously dated, and really was not conducive to be able to talk business.

The walk to the health club from the lobby is through cavernous empty spaces, which apparently at one time was (or was intended to be) an upscale shopping/entertainment area. A muliplex cinema is surrounded by vacant space, except for the health club.

The whole thing was a bit depressing, really.

The Hyatt Morristown is a great place to stay. It is my second home as I stay there almost every week. With easy access to the train to NYC it also is convenient for work in the city. The entire staff from booking a reservation to checking out is top rate. The hotel also offers transporation with in the local area, so I save my company money on car rental. The location of the hotel prime! It is with in walking distance from various shops and restaurants in Morristown! Something nice to do when there is some down time.

The hotel has a great fitness facility offering various workout classes, a variety of cardiovascular equipment and weight machines. Better than my gym at home! I enjoy dining in the Eclectic Grill for both Breakfast & Dinner and the Qube Lounge for a relaxing cocktail.

I’ve been staying at the Hyatt Morristown on a weekly basis since July of 2006. Prior to staying at the Hyatt I stayed at a couple of other well known hotels in the area, but they just don’t measure up to the Hyatt. The location of the hotel makes it all that much better. You can’t beat a place to stay that’s within walking distance of Zagat rated restaurants and designer outlet shopping. Morristown is quaint and loaded with charm.

Although the location is exceptional it’s the staff that really sets this hotel apart from other area hotels. They always go the extra mile to make my weekly stays pleasant and comfortable. They’re genuinely interested in making their guests happy. Everyone greets you with a smile and a hello, which I’ve not found to be true at nearby hotels.

The rooms are clean, well appointed, and spacious. The restaurant serves fabulous food and they won’t blink and eye if you ask them to prepare something that’s not on the menu. The morning breakfast buffet is a must. The bar serves the best martini’s in town and the ambience is terrific. Returning to the hotel in the evening to find the bar area alight in candles is really a treat.

If you’re a traveler who can’t live without a gym and lap pool you’ll be happy here! Located next to the gym is a movie theater that is a great alternative to watching movies on your laptop.

  • Liked — The staff! They're so professional. Every need/request is met with a smile. Turnaround time for requests is immediate! The location of the hotel is great. Walking distance to great shopping and restaurants.

I booked a room block at the Hyatt Morristown - WHAT A MISTAKE!! This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at!!

1. The elevators were broken during the entire wedding - my guests were late and many missed our ceremony. I know for a fact this is an ongoing problem at the hotel because I attended a wedding in June at the hotel and the elevators were broken then as well.

As a result, our old guests were forced to climb up and down stairs. One guest even cut his chin and had to get 8 stitches!!

2. The rooms were old and shabby!

3. I organized a farewell brunch for my guests - what a disaster. The food was ordinary and the service was pathetic. Then the hotel charged more than the agreed amount - which we are presently disputing with the credit card company since the hotel will not rectify the situation.

4. The hotel FORGOT to give out many of our wedding welcome baskets

Enough said - DO NOT STAY HERE.
