“Nice place for a small conference”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

Attended a conference here. It was a great place to host the conference, as long as you don;t expect a large crowd. The facilities are beautiful and mainatained.

“Another Gem in the Morris County Park system”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Frelinghuysen Arboretum is well worth a visit if you live within a couple of hours of the park. There is something for just about everyone. History, open space, incredible gardens, trails etc.

If you love gardens or gardening you will surely visit again and again. There is a formal Rose Garden behind the beautiful mansion. There are shade gardens and water gardens, a knot garden and fern paths. There are tropical plants scattered throughout and a raised garden of dwarf plants. There is also a large rain garden.

When you first arrive you are greeted by the most beautifully designed gardens within the parking lot.

The grounds are beautifully maintained. The plantings are very well designed.

There is also an auditorium where lectures are held throughout the year. More information is available on their website.

My favorite time to visit is spring through fall. Though winter is surely beautiful as well.

“Good for relaxing strolls and picnics”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

Not too much botanical information, so you won't become a forester or botanist when you're done. But the grounds are well maintained for a County park, expansive and pretty darn quiet. Really good place to go and unwind after a long day - bring a book, blanket and find a shady spot to plunk down (I had many a lunchtime at Frelinghuysen!). Definitely recommend it to friends and co-workers and keep going back. No fee park (even better!).

“Exploring Frelinghuysen Arboretum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

I’ve lived in Morristown over 50 years and never really paid much attention to the Arboretum until recently. What a lovely estate with all the different trees and plants. My father loved taking pictures of the gardens here and yesterday I found myself doing the same thing. I recommend taking time to explore the various gardens and the trails around the estate to see what Mother Nature has to offer. You can get a map of the estate at the Education Center.

“Great variety of plants and flowers in a beautiful setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

We love to go here and walk around at different times of year to see the plants and flowers. It gives us different landscaping ideas as well as let's us see varieties you don't see normally.
