We've previously dined here 3-4 times since it opened, most recently 2010. Each visit was in the very good-excellent range. This week's return, though, was very disappointing. The hard surfaces made a busy night's crowd sound like a sports arena din but that was no big surprise. It seemed they had a line of those who hadn't reserved, so the rather rushed service wasn't really a surprise, either The very uneven quality of the food was, however. The once memorable curry puff appetizer was bland and doughy. My followup main of soft shell crab in garlic sauce with asparagus was a standout, mainly thanks to a perfectly prepared crab, not the pedestrian sauce. My wife didn't fare as well. The broth in her Thai soup with shrimp was tasty but the shrimp were ultra-firm and badly overcooked. Her main-duck in a forgettable sauce-featured a dry, overdone bird. I now know a previous reviewer or two were right on when they noted overcooking. BYOB prevented wallet-denting from adding to the sad story. The Morristown Thai pendulum swings again.
