“The Perfect Place for any Occasion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

The Grand Cafe offers old world charm & hospitality while delivering a meal worthy of the finest restaurants in NYC or Paris. Desmond and Alice Lloyd know the hospitality business and have a great staff that makes every occasion very special. The food is off the charts. As we have become regulars, we stopped making up "occasions" to go and make it a point to get there once or twice a month. The small bar is a delightful place to meet for a drink prior to sitting down. The City took down the municipal building next door and turned it into a lovely park. In turn, the Lloyd's have upgraded their outdoor dining area (the Grand Allee). It is the best place in Morristown to have beautiful open-air dining experience.

The food is excellant, the service is the best, atmosphere is really classic. Great for a quiet special dinner.

“Charm, Elegance, Romance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

How wonderful that there are still old style dining establishments with beautiful, delicious food served in a quiet, elegant environment by a wait staff that is clearly a cut above any in the area.
For a quiet romantic evening, skip the tiny bar (although it's fun) and go right to the table with your significant other. You'll find the waiter efficient and unobtrusive. The food is excellent and beautifully presented - cooked to perfection.
The tables are spaced so that you can have your very own conversation, without benefit of listining to those of others.
Parking is always an issue in Morristown, so just give it up and park in the lot just about a half a block down the street. Don't let a little thing like that minor inconvenience stop you from enjoying the best meal in town.

“Service is good but food is disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

We went to the Grand Café for our anniversary and we were dissapointed. The staff are friendly and courteous but the dining room feel stuffy and in needs of updating. It is also very noisy as the table are quite close to each other. The food was not very sophisticated, the scallops were swimming in butter, and the liver was very tough. We found it very pricey overall for what it is.

“pricey but delicious first-rate food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

We tried the Grand Cafe many many years ago when it first opened but never returned. We decided to go again to sit outside on the new "Grand Allee" which borders a new town park, enjoying the last summer-like evening of the season. The service is "relaxed". We were served water, wine, and two rounds of bread before the menus arrived. But the evening and view were so lovely we didn't care too much. Be forewarned that the menu and the wine list are pricey. However, we ordered two specials, and they were both well done and delicious: roast duck with bing cherry sauce, rice pilaf, and chestnut puree; and branzino with crab risotto and roasted asparagus. We passed on dessert, but they served us a complimentary dish of small cookies - a nice touch. We'll probably go back when the weather gets warm.
