“Lovely weekend away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

We stayed at Virginia Court Hotel Easter weekend. We loved the room, really cosy. The bar area is also really nice and a good place to have a few drinks before heading out.
We didn't stay in for dinner but heard it was very good.
Breakfast was excellent with a good choice. Loved the little extras e.g. little chocolate chicks under the coffee cups on Easter Sunday :)
Would stay again.

Just on the edge of the town centre, great location. Food brilliant, all fresh and local produce a speciality. Staff all friendly and helpful. Ground floor rooms available for those less mobile, although it would be good if one could have a few aids in the bathroom i.e grab rail by the toilet and in the shower. Would rebook again if only to sample the food again.

Room Tip: No lift so ground floor room needed for less mobile

Spent a few days in Norwich at St Giles, followed by a trip to the coast at Cromer. Really glad we added on a few extra days at the seaside. The weather wasn't great but was lucky enough to be there for the crab & lobster festival, which meant Cromer was busy on Saturday. Enjoyed a nice coast walk to Overstrand along the cliff tops. Hotel was good, room was clean and fresh looking and bed comfortable. Had a really good shower, which makes a change in hotels. Breakfast was outstanding and the evening meal was enjoyable as well, had to try the Cromer crab and was glad we did, especially the crab crostini. Town was a very short walk away but shops were a let down, traditional seaside shops still had just been shopping in Norwich. Will be back later in the summer as we want to see a show on the pier.

The staff are very good at this hotel and the food is of a very high standard. the only down side is the soundproffing or lack of it in the hotel, there was a gentleman in the next room to us snoring and it was as if he was in bed with us, they moved us to another room but then the floor boards and people turning lights on and going to the toliet was no better. At one point we jumped out of bed thinking someone had just walked into our room

We stayed for 4 nights last week at the Virginia Court and cannot fault any aspect of our stay. The hotel location is perfect – tucked away on a quiet Avenue but only a 5 minute stroll into the town or to the Esplanade and Pier. We stayed in “The Suite” which is as good as it looks on the website. All the staff were friendly but professional and made us feel welcome and relaxed from the moment we checked in. After having dinner in the hotel restaurant on our first night we were so impressed that we decided not to bother trying other restaurants and were not disappointed. The food the Chef (and his team) produce is delicious and the breakfasts were also wonderful – loved the homemade Muesli and preserves! We look forward to a return visit soon.

We had a week in April where, despite the somewhat appalling weather, we had a great stay at this hotel. It is only a short walk into Cromer town and it's lovely pier and Esplanade.
The food at the hotel is second to none and every meal was a delight. The home-made jams and marmalade served at breakfast are absolutely wonderful (and available for sale for you to take home!)
The staff (Aaron, Claire, Naomi, Ruth and Dan) were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to any potential visitors to Cromer

We ate in a group of six golfers and Martin looked after us very well. The menu was local and seasonal and the dishes were tasty and skillfully prepared. Good wine list too.
