“Can't wait to return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

I returned from my holiday on 17th August and I must say the website doesn't do this hotel justice. The staff were very friendly and helpful and not too over the top or overbearing as I have experienced in hotels before this. I was on holiday with my mum and met some fantastic people - a nice range of ages to speak to - a Mum and her daughter with her boyfriend and two lovely sons made the holiday more enjoyable thank you. The room was great, the water was always warm and the hotel was very clean. We booked B&B after previous experiences in hotels but after seeing what Anil's wife cooked (three course meal cooked fresh every night and not a buffet style dinner) we spoke to Anil about paying extra for half board. He gave us a more than fair rate and the food was beautiful and very filling. I want to thank Anil, his wife and the staff for making mine and my mum's holiday extra special and we are now speaking about visiting your hotel twice a year. The dolmus is a two minute walk from the hotel and it is a short trip to everything (especially shopping - oh boy does my mum love shopping) - to sum up - clean, convenient, friendly and top small family run hotel :-)

The family that run the hotel are very friendly and helpful but because they run the hotel for the owners the standards are, in my opinion, poor.

We had a room with a balcony which was bright and tidy at first glance. There were a number of issues which we found a problem. The doors to the balcony did not shut properly so they always had a gap for the mosquitoes. The bedding, whilst washed, still had marks on it. The worst was the smell of sewage from the wet room that greeted you whenever you entered the room. The pool area could have been very nice but was a mess for the first six days, then the gardener turned up and mowed the grass.
Friends of the managers had a child who was sick in the pool and we were just told the pool was out of action for the day until the water had been filtered. no sorry or effort to clean up.
Air conditioning is available at £4/day and works well. The safe in the room is also an extra at £10.

The breakfast was very nice with toast, cereal, fruit , tea and coffee but no juice!

There was a group of middle aged women staying there at the same time, who were having their mid life crisis and coming back from the bars at Hirosanu at 4am. It was left to the other guests to get them to shut up as the people running the hotel were not interested but waited up to give them a night cap.

The location is good for seeing the area as it is on the main track through to the busy Fetiye, with the harbour and Tuesday market. 12 island boat trips for about £8/person, fantastic value!! We have done this trip a few times now and the best boat so far has been the Ugar Kaptan 2. The meal included with the trip was great quality as well.

Use the dolmas buses to get around. it was £1 to get to Olu Deniz and its lovely blue lagoon.

Overall an ok hotel, but nothing more. Excellent area to visit, so much to do but would stay somewhere else.

I have just got back from an amazing holiday. The hotel is very small and therefore it was lovely and quiet. Many times we had the pool to ourselves. You are always able to get a sunbed no need to get up early to put towels out. Our room was a good size and very clean. Rooms were cleaned daily and whenever we needed new towels the cleaner replaced them. We had air conditioning which was £4 a day (£56 for two weeks) and we got a safety deposit box which was £20 for two weeks.
We stayed bed and breakfast and there was a good selection of Turkish and English food from cereal, fruit, bread, eggs, cake, salad and hot drinks. We ate lunch there most days, there was a wide selection of food to choose from at good value for money. Very good chef. The bar was also open 24hours, however we never had a problem of hearing noise.
The manager, Anil and all his staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Anil could not do enough for you, always checking everything was ok. We booked a boat trip through him (12 island boat trip) which was such a peaceful and relaxing day out- would recommend it!
Halcyon Days is about a 20minute walk or 5minute dolmius/taxi ride from the main stip of Hisaronu. However there are quite a few restaurants near by too. The dolmius cost 2 Turkish Lira into Hisaronu and 2.75 Turkish Lira to Olu Deniz beach. The beach is very lovely, however remember your beach shoes as it is a pebble beach and hurts to get in and out of the sea!
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a peaceful relaxing holiday and can still go to the main strip of Hisaronu to enjoy good food and night life.

Just got back from a 2 week holiday here and would reccomend it. The place is lovely and peaceful and Mr and Mrs Anil are great. Mrs Anil is a good cook and the food is great. There is nothing that is to much trouble for them to help where they can. Met a great mix of people a daughter and her mum and a couple and also a family. Its a very quiet place but close to catch a dolmus into the towns or a taxi is cheap as well. Would love to go back again. I feel that its great for couples wanting a peaceful holiday or families. Groups I feel would better closer to the hustle and bustle. There is a bar open all night which is good if you want to have a late nite drink just hhave to remember its a small place and if noisy people at the bar the noise does travel as we and many others had that problem. But was a great place and friendly people. All staff from Anil and his family to the pool cleaner, barman etc were all great.

Just returned this morning from the Halcyon Days Hotel. I can't rate the hotel, staff or surroundings enough. I was there with 3 friends for 10 days. Everybody was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The bar, pool and gardens are well kept. Rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels and bed linen are changed regularly.

Would highly recommend a stay here. Perfect peaceful days chilling around the pool and only a short dolmus/taxi ride from the hustle and bustle of Hisaronu.

Thank you to Anil and his wife and staff for a perfect holiday. Hope to return next year x

We spent 2 weeks at this hotel end of June, start of July. Anil and his wife Anil are amazing hosts nothing is too much trouble for them and their staff. This is a lovely small hotel in Ovacik, Hisaronu and Oludeniz are a short cheap taxi or dolmus ride away. The hotel, rooms and pool were always lovely and clean and we found it an ideal place to relax and enjoy our holiday. We ate a few times at the hotel and the food is very recommended. We can't wait to go back next year and have recommended this hotel to all our friends.

Returned to Turkey after 12 years with two daughters aged 12 and 10. Hotel clean and ideally positioned to catch dolmus to Fethiye or Olu Deniz. Excellent, friendly restaurants within 100m. Cooler location higher up from the coast. Pool and garden clean and relaxing. All staff very friendly. Would recommend!
