Take my advice. NEVER. NEVER NEVER go there if you are a non smoker. Every body smokes there and the worse are the Brits. So many dog ends on the beach; if you can call grey grit a beach. The beach furnature was so close together you could here each other breathing. Local traders were in your face selling crap and at very expensive prices. By the canel outlet to the sea smelt of raw sewage. Temperature was great 30plus each day but food and drink same prices as UK. Ashamed of Brits abroad especially those who flew in from the north of UK. Loud, drunk, no manners or respect for others.
Marmarise ten times worse. Disco music all day. Cheap rubbish food and no beach to be proud of.
Will go to Turkey again but well away from tourist hot spots

we have recently returned from a weeks holiday in Icmeler.What a fantastic holiday resort!Having not visited Turkey before we were very sceptical about the resort.The people were friendly,the beach clean and safe,the restaurants were numerous and varied and there wasn't a cloud in the sky for the whole week!We took our 14 year old daughter with us and although we were worried on arrival about her safety during the holiday,we soon realised we needn't have worried at all.She wasn't hassled or bothered whilst out walking at nite or in the daytime whilst in the resort,only once or twice whilst visiting the market.The daily boat trip on the "green boat" with "johnny guitar"was a trip worth taking.It cost us £8 each,which left Icmeler at 10.30am and returned at 5pm.The trip included a bbq lunch and took us around the neighbouring islands,with many "swim stops" to cool off.We would recommend this trip to everyone.The market on a Wednesday is a must..there are many bargains to be had including leather bags,purses,belts,towels,fruit and veg,and numerous other items.They except the GBP aswell as the Lira.

My Girlfriend and I spent 7 nights in Icmeler, July 2006. We enjoyed the holiday and reccomended it to our friends. Its a place for all age groups really. If you're wanting to escape the hustle and busstle of Marmaris, but have the option of visiting the place for the water parks, or night life, then Icmeler is the place for you. Its about 3 miles away from marmaris; only a cheap taxi ride away, or a nice stroll or bike ride along the coastal path.

We weren't thrilled with our hotel. The room overlooked the very busy and loud street, and the hotel refused to move us despite empty rooms, but unfortunately I can not remember the name of the hotel, to deter you from going there, just make sure when booking the hotel you take into account its exact location, my advise would be just out the town would be great, or in the hills.

The resort itself was great. We were around 22 years old when we were there, and it had everything we needed. Great restaurants, great bars, nice beach and souvenir shops.

Icmeler is a family/couple resort rather then the 18-30's scene found in Marmaris.

The beach is lovely, with loads of day rental sun loungers on it, at fair prices. The sea was lovely and walm, clear, and calm.

The only faults with icmeler are some, not all, just some of the rude touts on the street. The guys right out side of our hotel badgered us every time we came out, or went in to the hotel. Offering us chep quality meals, and grabbing at my partners hand, asking for kisses. At one stage, I became very annoyed with their persistency, and let them know how rude they were being, and how some international holiday makers are not used to this, and find it offensive. My advice, as far as touts are concerned, is be polite and firm. If you're not interested in what they are selling, just say no thank you firmly, and walk away. They generally leave you alone then.

went s/c kettle and two eletric rings that did not heat up so had to eat out the shop below made uo his own prices 5lira butter bread 1lira b/fast ranged from 13 lira/18.50 this was our worst holiday in 20 yrs a complete rip off woke up every night the wailing and the turks dragging us into their shops/bars even when they seen us coming out of one when we did make it to the beach they were dragging us to their sunbeds are you not allowed to walk on the beach? and one time we did not order a drink with our meal it was slaped down another one had no pudding left but charged us anyway went in to get my short hair lighten and it was the same when i came out told it would get lighter in the sun they are the rudest foul mouth people took £10 from two elderly people for lemon water which really cost £2 someone paid £8 small bottle water at airport for their small child waited for 1hour on bus for rep not all but most are lira grabbing thugs very intimidating also what a relief to get home it was the end of season so were we easy targets and all for £700s/c
