“Family Holiday @ Bonjour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012

We have just spent a lovely 2 weeks at the Bonjour. There were 16 of us ranging in age from 2 years to "Popsy" at 80 years old.

We had 3 apartments (2x 2 bedrooms and 1x 1 bedroom) plus 3 rooms in Bonjour on B&B basis. We also had 1 room in the Ida on B&B basis. Obviously some rooms had a better outlook than others, depending on your preferences. My daughters 1 bed apartment overlooking the main square, was really interesting looking at all the activities, however if you don't like noise from the bars etc. this would not be the room for you. The room in the Ida was a little small, but very modern in decoration and fittings, a very high standard. I would not hesitate to book a room there, as I spend very little time in the room. I am not that experienced on Turkey accommodations but we were all pleased with the standards in the Bonjour.

We ate out at lots of different restaurants in the resort, but still had 3/4 evening meals in the Bonjour. The food was excellent. We also wanted to wander out and eat elsewhere, we did not get any hassle from any staff at the Bonjour because of this. The staff including Morat, Omar, Josh, Gerry (to name a few) were all really friendly and kind. It was my daughters birthday whilst we were there and they made the table look lovely and with balloons and flowers and made the meal very special by providing a delicious cake, thanks Ferhat and team, much appreciated.

We spent one day at the beach, one at the Aqua Dream waterpark and one day on a boat trip, other than that we spent every day at the pool. We ordered our food and drinks from Nico and Jimmy (aka. Denis) and were happy with their efforts to look after us. A little more variety with the music played around the pool, would have been nice.

The lunch menu was reasonably priced and good value. Drinks although, reasonable can really push up the price of your spending, by the pool if you are not careful. It would have been great to have a "happy hour" at the pool bar, maybe from 5.30-6.30, as I do like an early evening cocktail before getting changed for dinner. This is something we have had in Turkey before and seems popular.

The ladies who cleaned the rooms, did a great job and worked so hard in the heat, to keep everything looking clean and tidy. I really wished I could speak Turkish, as they were very kind to our two little grandsons, but we could not communicate our appreciation, to them.

The location is excellent on the newly refurbished main square, with great views of the pine clad hills.

All in all, we had a great time and would like to thank all at the Bonjour for making our holiday special

Just home from a weeks Bed & Breakfast at the Bonjour. Again received excellent service from Farhet, Gerry, Josh, Omar, Moret, Sadola & Memhet. The new staff at the Ida are also very nice and nothing is too much trouble for the new pool boy. Standards are as high as always. We are not large eaters and the staff at the bonjour quite happily provided us with just starters for our meal, even offering smaller breakfast portions. The food is lovely with
great banter.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel on our first holiday in Turkey July 2009 and the experience was so good that we returned to Turkey July 2010 and July 2011. We actually felt in 2009 that the place had been kept a secret from us - we just could not believe how inexpensive, friendly and safe the place was.

The Bonjour was spotlessly clean. The food and service in the restaurant was one of, if not the best in the resort. Though there are many great places to eat and be entertained so we didn't restrict ourselves to the hotel. We didn't experience any hassle from staff, to eat every night in the hotel restaurant, that some early reviewers talk about. Yes they will ask if you would like a table but there is no pressure. They were very friendly and interested in everyone that it was a joy to return at the end of an evening to have a last drink at the bar and relax with the staff and other guests before hitting the sack.

We went B & B and the breakfasts were a great start to the day, with a full english breakfast available if thats what you need to get you going.

We returned to Icemeler in 2010 but unfortunately we couldn't get a room at the Bonjour. However, we ate there on a number of evenings and it was as good as we had remembered. It was lovely to meet up with some of the staff from the previous year who remembered us and made us feel like part of their family returning for a visit.

We would highly recommend this hotel and this resort.

Me and my mum have been going to Icmiler for the past 8 years as it is so safe, cheap, has so much to do, great beach, the turkish people are absolutely lovely, good shopping, relaxing and the food and drinks are such good value and so yummy!

It was our first time staying at the Bonjour Hotel as we originally stayed in the Old Village. The Bonjour had been recommended to us and we popped in in 2010 and decided to book for 2011.

To start with the staff were really lovely, especially Speedy by the bar. He was always happy to help and was a lot of fun round the pool. The waiters in the restaurant too were friendly and did their best to assist you at all times. Being in the hotel it meant we got bed and breakfast which was awesome. By the second week I fancied a change and so they made me toast with cheese and beans without any questioning which was great.
The bonjour restaurant is lovely to eat in at night time, however some people tended to eat there every night because you would always be asked to by the staff. DON'T. Icmiler has so many great places to eat it would be silly to not try them all. Champagne bar is always busy and is so good for food and drinks. It also has entertainment which is great for families. The Majestic is also a really good place to eat situated on the canal, in the heart of all the entertainment. They have a Chinese chef so if you fancy Chinese it is definitely worth a visit.

The hotel rooms are cleaned daily and are kept in a pristine condition. The pool is great as you share the IDA hotel pool as well which is owned by the same man. This means that whether you want to lie in the sun or the shade there is sun loungers in all positions. Sometimes you did have to get up earlyish - 8am to put the towels out but that was only when big groups didn't go to the beach. Talking of the beach it is a 5 minute walk away and is lovely with water sports offered if you are interested in that.

The hotel is in a perfect position with cash exchange offices opposite it, as well as a supermarket and a pharmist literally next door. If you fancy going to Marmaris it is a 2 minute walk from the Dolmus (bus) stop, which is cheap and a really quick/traditional way of travelling. These run every 5 minutes so it is really easy to get between the two.

All in all it was a lovely holiday, the staff were friendly and not sleazy in the slightest and I would recommend for anyone to stay there!

I enjoyed my stay in the Bonjour. The staff are very friendly, especially Josh and Omar who made my stay enjoyable, were always keen to engage in conversations but did not hassle us at all. I would strongly recommend anyone to consider staying at the bonjour as not only the service is excellent but the food is great too, as we ate there many nights, and were always more than satisfied.
