“Second stay at the Mersoy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

This was the second time we stayed at the Mersoy within 6 months and the improvements were vast. The oriental had the water slides and a larger pool which was great for our daughter and husband as well. The food had a wide choice and was able to cater for every nationality. The staff were friendly and cheery all the time. Oncan the bar man was excellent! I have to say a big well done to the entertainment team and Mustafa and his exclusive Mersoy dance which got everyone to their feet joining in. Mini club was good fun and our daughter spent ages face painting and drawing with Olga. I've read reviews on here but honestly for the price, you can't complain. It's near all amenities and has plenty of choice. Would definitely go back. Just remember anybody reading the reviews...'you can't suit everybody' and if anyone can tell me of someone they know who cooks a different meal everynight of the week, then you can complain about the food being repeated.

Room Tip: Stay in the oriental. The rooms are bigger and it's quieter at night. Also there is a bar up the...

lovely hotel for a three star and for what you pay for, but on our arrival we had to be moved three times until a room was found that we could sleep in due to faults in the rooms, after 4 days we asked to be moved as we were staying here for three weeks and the room was very small. The female manager (who I have not got the name for) was very rude and I think that she could do with a brush up her communication skills with the public as she said that we were too fuzzy !!!! The staff in the hotel were excellent but I must mention the following staff as they went that extra mile to make our holiday a lot better, they are Nursen and Inna in reception, the bar staff Efe and Fathi if it was not for these people I think our holiday would have been the worst. I must say that the entertainment team went out of their way to make you welcome 10/10. I think that the management need to look and review their food menu as this was very poor for international holiday makers and not just Russians. I have stayed in icmeler 4 times before and have never complained, would I return to this hotel in the future (No) unless there was massive changes. I would advise the management to look at their website as this gives the public a false impression of the hotel.

Room Tip: make sure that you book a regular standard room in (a) block, or you will end up in a very small roo...

Amazing staff, catered to all our needs including a free room upgrade (couldn't swing a cat let alone a hyper 2 year old running round). Food wasn't amazing but there was always plenty of it and had a great selection of healthy options. Sweet option was plenty but not to the English taste. Rooms were clean and towels changed daily.
The location is perfect, 2 minutes at the most away from everything.
For the little I feel we paid for this holiday I feel I got more than I deserved.
Again I must mention the staff. Incredible, they make the resort and I hope they are recognised for this.

Reviews were mixed on here about this hotel I thought bad reviews were picky people so here is my truthful view we are not fussy eaters in our family either...here goes on arrival shock horror as it looked awful from outside as if built over a restaurant we were taken to our family room in block A two rooms lots space fridge brill power shower fab room but big brown water marks above headboard but we not bothered bout that breakfast was not too bad and lunch ok ish teatime was awful lots of over cooked pasta slimey n cauliflour cheese mush under cooked grilled liver wedges every night over two weeks except two nights baked potatoes desserts were awful bright blue n pink n yellow n green cakes...apples n oranges were only fruit available except one night cherries were available but bit squidgy. Soup like water no taste. All soft drinks ok and larger nice..ask for gin but dont expect tonic as they only have coke lemonade or orangeade as a mixer... also tables at meal times hard to get as russians dive for them n sit allnight at them waiting for entertainment to start they are arrogant n ignorant n steal fruit in their bags!!! We had eat out as food was aimed at russians and my kids got fed up of salad we spent about extra £600 on eating out so we were not happy. Hotel staff lovely always happy n hotel spotless pools fantastic kids loved them. Two ladies told me they cried when they arrived at hotel as hated room n food!. Shame really but I think they need a new chef and also a relaxing area for drinking in th evenings instead of sitting on dining chairs...I loved Iclemer and will go again but never to this hotel as food quality ruined our holiday as we had buy food out which dented our funds.

Thanks for your review.

The hotel was renovated in 2009 and to my opinion, has a nice outer look. Therefore did not understand what is horror about it.

We cater for all nationalities including British and we have a microwave as well for the guests. We will try to cater more for British but since we are a Muslim country, we do Not serve Bacon. FYI. We serve Pepsi and Efes; which are one of best brands in terms of soft drinks and beer so they are not just OK.

The standard rooms are of the same size; are renovated in 2009 and very nice rooms. The guests who booked a standard room are entitled for a standard room; not a family room. Pls bear this in mind as some of the guests ask for a family room even they booked a standard; no matter if the agency personnel showed them a family room photo back in UK.

Thanks again for your review and thanks for giving very good points on Location, Rooms, Cleanliness and Service. I assume that you had a nice holiday considering all the good points you have given.

Thanks.

This was our second visit to the Mersoy and again can't complain at all. Location is everything and the Mersoy has it all, close to the beach and shops. An excellent maid service with fresh towels daily. Restaurant food excellent. The staff are just amazing, always smiling and helpful thanks to Memet and his team in the restaurant and also the friendly bar staff. The animation team are very friendly and try really hard to involve everyone even take you to Bar Street every evening for a really small charge (well worth it). The Bistro Med bar outside the hotel.......... food amazing and service 1st class thanks to Ice and Omar <3<3<3 love you guys see you all next year xxxx

Room Tip: Rooms in block A have an excellent shower and good views.

Very good room, as majority of people complained about the size of theirs, maids done a great job of cleaning rooms, we were up on the fourth floor and had a view of of pool and mountains, and nice big balcony, good size room too. only downfall was lift was out of order for 2 days, and there was people with young children on the top floor, apparently this was a regular occurance.
must say bar staff and waiters all excellent with a smile and greeting unless they were very busy.
Food was pretty bad, and not very good quality, not much choice to be honest, constantly waiting about for cups in the morning, and also not enough tables for the amount of people in hotel..
Entertainment was not up to much, pretty pathetic to be honest,, wont name one of entertainment staff, but spent most of his time chatting up young females or eyeing them up....lol..felt he forced himself in to doing the aqua gym and would have been quiet happy if no-one was up for doing it!
good location as quiet central for everything.
reasonable hotel if you are not fussy about food.

Room Tip: go for room 1412 as this seems to one of the biggest double rooms and good view of mountains
