“Don't Go!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

Just back from two weeks in the Verde Hotel. Worst holiday I have ever had. Unfriendly staff, (apart from a couple of the waiters and one bar staff). The food was quite awful, same old every night and at lunchtime, breakfast not much better, cold food and never any cups for tea/coffee etc. We ended up having to eat out quite a bit! Rooms were clean and bedding and towels changed regularly, but apart from that I would adivse not to book. Will not back, and will certainly not recommend this hotel to anyone.

we arrived early morning which of course was nothing to do wiv hotel there were 12 of us took forever to process us all and the lift was so small and the receptionist 'Falcon' was very pleasant but did insist on taking each room up individually.
We were all inclusive, the food i would imagine would probably be better in a prison, the salad bar was ok but the same each meal and the hot choice was rubbish i think that every meal had a strange tasting burger and chicken both of which were in different guises at each meal and not very good at that, the rice always in oil and the food was never actually very hot which when having rice, pasta and chicken uncovered inthat enviroment im surprised that we didnt get food poisoning, speakint another coup[le who had 2 weeks there they actually only eat in the hotel on 2 occasions
The bar which was also AI included the local beer 'Efes' which was fine local produce wine, vodka, raki, gin, pepsi, lemonade, also available were Bacardi,Archers,Baileys,Smirnoff and a cuple of other branded spirits which of course u have to pay for as there were no local alternatives, the barman only seemed interested in serving the ladies.
And they should invest in some new sunbeds as they are in a dangerous state

Room Tip: choose another hotel!!!!!!!!!

just returned from verde hotel in icemeler turkey , they are the most miserable people on the planet , they dont know how to smile be friendly or organise a hotel . the receptionist sits behind the desk with her head down , no good morning , just nothing at all , did have a peek to see what she doing and guess what she on facebook !!. .. want a cup of tea ... forget it as theres never any cups or milk.... and brown throw away wooden sticks for teaspoons !!. they obviously cater for the russians as everything in russsian ,, thats fair enough but no excuse for rudeness... the turks are well known for their friendliness so this was quite a shock to those of our party that been to turkey before !!. the food just tolerable but we ate out most nights , rooms are clean etc , but beware if u want to eat at 1.55pm as lunch finishes at 2pm and they allow u 5 minures to eat it !! well they did try but were told different .. please avoid this hotel , its very depressing .

we arrived at verde afer travelling for 15 hours, we were given our rooms by shalim at reception (who happened to be the only helpful member of reception staff in the hotel) the lift is so small that my wife and 2 suitcases were the only things we could get in, i carried the hand luggage up the stairs as the lift is so slow if we`d waited we would never have got to our rooms, there was 5 of us, so you can imagine the performance, we were disappointed to find we had been allocated twin rooms when we booked doubles, we asked to moved and they said they couldnt do it then, but would do it in the morning, when i got up next day i went to reception to ask if we could be moved, the new receptionist who wasnt very happy that we had asked to be moved, asked what was wrong with it, when i told him it wasnt what we had booked he moaned a bit but eventually moved us to a new room, it was the same size, too small and had a double bed and a single bed, we asked for just a double and not a single and he said thats all they had, which later turned out to be a bit of a porky as we spoke to other unhappy guests, so were in the room with no room tswing a cat (which is just as well because we didnt have any intentions of swinging cats) there is no storage space, 1 wardrobe but no drawers, theres a mini fridge which looks like its just been abandoned in the room so you have to fight to get between that and the single bed to get out onto the balcony which is dangerously low, top of the handrail is 880 mm, way too low, lower than my waist, a slip or trip and youd be history, the staff are so miserable, especially reception staff, they just dont help at all, one female member never ever looked up from her computer, we discovered why later, she was continuously on facebook and obviously didnt want to be interrupted (even the tour operator from over the road told me he dropped off a dvd from one of the excursions to a guest and asked her what happened, has somebody died) the food was horrific, worst ive ever experienced (although this was our first time in turkey and we were told its nothing spectacular) the hot food is held in chafing dishes outside its never hot, even if your first in the queue, every day its the same chicken, burger and fish, but its always done the same way, no variation whatsoever, the pasta consists of just pasta, nothing in it i.e. sauce, herbs, spices or anything, salad bars acceptable but still exactly the same stuff as every mealtime, basically most of the stuffs not worth looking at, it has no taste at all, we ate out most of the time (just as well we wernet on a tight budget) a lot of people who go all inclusive are watching the pennies, if you are on a tight budget, this is not the place for you, one of the waiters, ali, he was pleasant enough, nice guy, would have a joke and a laugh, but everyone else was miserable, this was the biggest problem for us as i felt miserable myself everytime i went in there, i just felt i was interrupting them, one waiter in particular, came up to my wife while she was eating her meal and said, 5 minutes finished, so you imagine the response he got from her, i pulled him andd told him she`ll be finished when shes finished, then a couple of days later i went to get some fruit from the sweet counter and he came up and said, no its finished, lunch ends at 2, it was exactly 2, he got the same response again, when he tried to move the plate of melon away i grabbed his arm and told him to leave it as i wasnt finished, he said im finished now and want to clean up so i can sleep, yeah right, like that was going to happen, he hated us after that, which didnt really bother us that much as we werent really that keen on him, there are never any cups when you want tea or coffee, any friut juices which breakfast are extra, not on all inclusive, theres meant to be several bars, however, there is only one, the other one is a building site, the indoor pool isnt open and has more dead flies in it than it does water, there looked there should be a bar in there as well but as its another building site, well theres not much point keeping it open, facilities are basically non existant, i,e, sauna, fitness room, massage, theres no one in there that does anything like that, so theyre closed, the outside pool is tiny, and the view from the hotel is basically the corridors to the back of the hotel and a fire escape, the last night we had a thunderstorm, they closed the doors to the restaurant, stuck some towels up against them to stop rain getting in, and as there is only one bar outside, this meant there was no bar as they all stood inside with no idea what to do next, fortunately we were checking out that night, i never spoke to one guest who was hppy, every single one i spoke to said it was the worst place theyd ever stayed in, people also coming up to me asking what i thought of the hotel, you can use the vela hotel round the corner, thats verdes sister hotel, the hotel staff didnt tell us that, a rep eventually told us, and we could eat there if we wanted, so one night we said, lets give it a try, what a surprise, the foods exactly the same, cooked at the verde and transported round to the vela, so whats the point, this is never ever in a million years a 4 star hotel, id give it 2 at the most, and thats being generous, icmelers lovely and the people are lovely, friendly and funny, so i cant undestand how the staff in this hotel are so ignorant and rude, id go back to icmeler tomorrow, but never back to verde, a shocking experience that i just want to forget now, but be warned, for a 4 star all inclusive hotel, its to a very very poor standard, and if youre in the higher numbers on each level, the very loud irish bar faces your room and you wont get to sleep, its open late, not too much of a problem for us as we were in there a lot of the time and we dont go to bed early anyway, but if your going for a quiet break, you`ll be in the wrong hotel.

Room Tip: the lowest numbered rooms on each level are best, if your in the high numbers you face the irish bar...

Hi...my partner and I have just returned from Turkey early hours of this morning. Both of us had talked over our ten day stay at the Verde Hotel and that we should write a review. We booked our stay here very last minute and accepted that from previous experience from booking all inclusive at other hotels in many different hotels not just in Turkey, that we were taking a chance as am usually disappointed. I have to say, that the food here was the worst I have ever experienced for all inclusive. After the first day of trying to put together some sort of meal from the very poor selection of hot and cold foods, mostly so overcooked, we decided to eat out every day, even for breakfast! You can get a beautiful full English Breakfast just round the corner for 5TL which filled us up for the day. So many other fabulous and reasonably priced restaurants around for the evening meals too. However, although the room was on the small side, and very basic, it was clean and the bathroom looked fairly recently refurbished, plenty of hot water, even though the tap was very sensitive to get the right temperature, clean bed linen and towels every day. As a mum I have to mention too that the balconies were very low, and I would be terrified a small child could easily go over this. Also the banisters on the stairwells inside were too wide apart, and again, a child could easily fall through these. There was outside noise, but you expect this in the middle of the resort. It didn't keep us awake, and we had no screaming children running around at all hours either. The main reception area seemed clean and welcoming, the aircon was ok in the room, the staff were very friendly, the downstairs indoor pool was yet to be desired! It is almost derelict and this whole area where the 'games room and gym and massage room' should all be sectioned out of bounds until properly refurbished. This pool area quite obviously hasn't been used for a long time. The bar staff always friendly, very small basic snack shop on site. The dining area was more like a canteen, which is a shame, because I expected a proper dining room for a 4* hotel. The table clothes were not changed each meal time either, so that was a turn off to startwith. The outside pool looked clean, on the small side, and not many sun beds, but we went to the beautiful beach every day and got free sunbeds and waited on hand and foot by the Coca Beach guys, who will look after you no end, especially Morat, fab guy and always eager to please. We gave up trying to find the dedicated sunbeds for The Verde Hotel. We should also mention that the lowcost holidays advertise this as being a 50m walk from the beach... in fact it is about a 7 minute walk to the beach, then another few minutes to the sunbeds we used. Still not far, but NOT 50meters. For what we paid, we would rather have gone to a different hotel, offering proper 4* accommodation and just room only. It is such a shame, because this hotel could be so much more and could be what I would call a good 3* hotel with a little more attention to detail and a new chef!! No way is this a 4* hotel, and I would have to give it a 2*. I would also like to mention that I was ill, not sure what due to, but do not get the doctor from this hotel, unless you are properly insured for a private clinic cover. I was very lucky and fortunately was, more by luck, and was taken to their private clinic in Marmaris, and although well looked after, could have ended up with a hefty bill! There is a doctor in Ichmeler... I would go there instead or make sure your insurance covers you for a private clinic.

I have to agree with this what Carl D said... yes there was too many Russians and this what he said about them was 100% true but except that... food wasn't that bad... rooms were clean (room service - every single day, clean towels etc. ) and the barman (Ekrem) the most friendly man in the hotel...

We booked this holiday through easyjet holidays and it was sold as an all inclusive package and a 4* hotel, which is not 4* and for me wouldn't even be given 3*...I have experienced some luxury cruise ships and I know what to expect from a basic hotel!!!...I would have preferred to stay at a premier inn or even a hostel!

The first evening we arrived it was ok, the room very very basic with the usual facilities and a good aircon; the noise from the hotel and outside kept us awake most evening, we can except that this is a holiday resort and can forgive the noisy bar outside, but it's the terrible people coming back in the early hours with no consideration for anyone else, banging doors, slamming them constantly, Russians letting there children run around the corridors at 6/7am screaming and banging doors! We came back from our holiday ill rather than refreshed.

We couldn't get a sun bed in the day, well you need to be up and about at 5am to get a lounger, they must put their towels out at 5/6am when they get back from the bars...they leave them on the sun bed until what ever time they want, somedays the beds were reserved all day!!! And never been used, The only day we got a sun bed was on our last day! But you spend all day watching that some one doesn't just take it when you are in the pool, believe me, the kind of people staying here wouldn't think twice about throwing your towel off the bed and taking it!!!

The food was shocking!!!!...the worst ever, it was boiled sprouts and onions with some kind of mashed up meat that looked like dog food!!! It was so bad, we didn't even go in for breakfast and we ate out all wk, we just couldn't face it, they also did snacks from 3ish, which was food like chips, can't go wrong with chips, once we had chicken nuggets...they were terrible, how can you not cook chicken nuggets, they were soaked in oil...the buffet times just consisted of 5 metal containers with some kind of slop in; fried kippers, meat that some times resembled chicken or beef, with was more likely to be dog or cat food. The only bonus was the ice cream at lunch...other than that I would never pay for all inclusive again in Turkey!

The saving grace from the hotel was the drinks, and the barman in the pool bar, very friendly and polite and seemed to take a lot of grief from the guests staying in the hotel, never once did I see the Russians say thank you for anything, just rude and ignorant people, just spent all week pointing at the drinks and grunting, one day around the pool, I was so worried for my safety because this big Russian guy with his family spent all day drinking and was causing problems around the pool, shouting, running around and diving in the pool, and he started to get aggressive towards the staff when they wouldn't serve him any more drink cause he could stand up, and he had children with him, can you image how the children will grow up! Very scary! the people were so hiddious that when they arrived from the airport, they arrived with bottles an bottles of booze, some guy was checking in with a open bottle of half drunk whiskey! Not the kind of scum you want to spend your holiday with!!!

We also wanted to pay for the late checkout for the day we depart, which we were told twice by 2 different members of staff it was £20 and then on the last day, they decided it was £25 for a room for an extra 5 hours!!!...we tried to spk to the manager but he couldn't be bothered, I feel they probably just kept the extra money for them selves, they seem to make the rules up as they go along, it wasnt the extra £5 that was the issue, it was principle, and it felt we were being robbed and made a fool of.

I spent a lot of time over the wk looking at the different 4*hotels in the resort and all the other places looked a hundred times better than this hotel, I couldn't understand why the verde hotel has 4* unless the decided to issue them self with the extra star!!!! It was very basic and poor quality, food was third world standard and the drinks package consisted of beer, warm wine and some basic spirits.

Their saving grace for the holiday was all the great restaurants here we ate at...we ate at the Indian/Chinese restaurant which was amazing and also the coco beach Italian on the sea front which was so fantastic...also the best 2 nights we had was at 'The Stella Show' at harmony bar on the sea front, we had a beautiful steak meal with the show and what a great laugh we had.

I would suggest you pay the extra money towards a better hotel around the beach area and wouldn't waste money with full board or all inclusive, because we spent more time and money searching for places to eat and sun bath, because the hotel was terrible and the food wasn't fit for a pig!

So if you want to spend your holiday awake all night from the noise, stomach cramps from the food, worried some Russian will punch you for a sun bed, then this is the place for you. ENJOY!
