Two weeks enjoyable holiday.Lovely hotel situated on the edge of the beach and the whole area is well maintained. I had no problems with the food this is a Turkish Hotel and mainly Turkish food is served. If you are expecting bacon eggs & steaks then this is not the hotel for you.

Room Tip: Higher floor and sea view

Loved the hotel found the staff friendly and the location excellent. Would gladly return to this hotel. I would have rated it excellent but the wine at the dinner table cost £20 for a cheap bottle of plonk that you could buy at supermarket for £4 so it was just like most of the hotels in the UK. We ignored the signs and bought our supermarket plonk and consumed it in our room. Similarly we took our own bottled water on to the beach. Food was OK just not British I enjoyed cheese, tomatoes and olives, fruit and yoghurt and fresh fried eggs or an omelette and toast for breakfast.
In the sea you will get a free pedicure by the local fish.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor facing ( 6th floor) the new hotel which is nearing completion. There was s...

The hotel is a fantastic 4 star hotel, it's such a shame that the food does not match this rating. First the hotel itself. Spotlessly clean , modern and refurbished, it is ideally situated on the edge of town right on the beach with it's own beach area with free sunbeds, towels etc. There's a lovely pool too if you want it. Our room, on the fifth floor, had a panoramic sea view from a large balcony. The room was a good size with a modern walk-in shower in the bathroom. A free safe was installed. The air-conditioning was excellent. My only criticism was the minibar at the usual outrageous hotel prices. It simply is not something a holiday maker would use. Far better to have a fridge for guests to use instead.
Oh, that reminds me. There's a silly hotel rule that "for hygienic reasons guests are forbidden to bring food or drink bought elsewhere into the hotel". So you have to smuggle your booze in if you want to have a drink in your room. Scrap the rule Fantasia, there is no valid hygiene reason for it, and give your clients a fridge.
Now for the food. Every review mentions the poor food so I'll not dwell on it. What is such a shame is that the management's attitude at the Fantasia which is, and I quote " the English always complain", as if it's not their problem. They should remember who their clients are, mostly English, and try to please them, not the accountants who fix the food budget. That's the root of the problem. Simple things like have a greater variety of fruit for breakfast, why offer Coco Pops as one of two cereal choices at an adult only hotel, offer more cereals, particularly muesli. it would not cost any more. Lets have bacon, breakfast sausages and mushrooms occasionally and cut out some of the other banal offerings. In the evening offer a themed night sometimes and have a roasted joint carved to order as a choice. This may cost more but what is customer satisfaction worth? One other thing, if they cannot offer a bottle of wine at a fair price then scrap it. Nobody was paying a minimum of £20 for an unknown wine.

Would I go back to the Fantasia? Yes I would. The advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However unless the food improved I'd be prepared to spend most of my evenings eating out. Unfortunately they do not offer "room only" bookings.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room for the best views

Lovely hotel and spotless clean , the pool area was innaculate and never crowded , same for the private beach area, very well maintained the sand was smoothed over every day compared to some of the other hotels, the only thing we were dissapointed in is the food like the other members have mentioned , breakfast prob the worste , evening meals bit more variety but there were no drinks available what so ever ,not even water, so cant blame people for sneaking in there own drinks , we opted for eating out most of the time but the food is so cheap and there are some lovely restaurants to eat so it was not a problem for us . it is a shame as the hotel is really lovely with great sea views but need to sort out there menu.

My partner and I have just returned from a week’s stay at the Hotel Fantasia in Icemeler 5-12th Sept.2013.
The hotel was immaculately clean and spacious.
We were fortunate in having a front room (412) with a sea view although half our view was blocked by a very tall palm tree literally outside our balcony and which leaves were coming into the balcony! This wasn’t a problem considering the one next to us had 2 palm trees blocking the whole balcony! Also the rooms at the side were facing a half built hotel with a HUGE black tarpaulin for a view!
Our first evening meal was OK but having stayed in several hotels either HB or ALL Inc (we always did SC but recently changed) we were disappointed in the lack of choice. After a couple of meals we decided the food was of poor quality.
We had kept an eye on TripAdvisor reviews but we know you can’t please ‘All the people all the time’ and had seen many good reviews.
We found the waiters to be all young boys who were acting like young boys! There didn’t appear to be anyone in charge of them and I found the service a little ‘sloppy’. The appearance of young girls had them acting like children, giggling and showing off.
For two nights we had the same table next to the patio doors and near the chef who was cooking fish or other dishes, this was fine as we had plenty of light, however after that we sat in unlit places, it was a mostly outside area which was very pleasant but so badly lit, there were lights around but they were hidden behind bushes or not switched on, we asked the waiter why the lights weren’t on but he simply said ‘I don’t know, it’s the manager’!
We were given tables that hadn’t been cleaned, plates and glasses were removed but crumbs and bits of food were left, well it’s so dark you can’t see it!!
There were candles on the tables but these weren’t always lit and if they were the wind would blow them out (it was often quite breezy) or the candle was nearly finished anyway.
I mentioned the chef earlier...He was always on his phone! Very unprofessional ! And he rarely smiled!
One of the waiters we were impressed with as he went out of his way to find us a table when it was busy, I didn’t ask him his name and I can only describe him as skinny and smiling! He is the only waiter I gave a tip to. We felt sure the others were talking about the guests as they were standing about in a group, it was an uncomfortable feeling and atmosphere!
On our first full day in Icemeler we went for a walk and naturally bought water to drink from the supermarket, when we returned to the hotel we were stopped by a member of staff who told us we couldn’t go in, so we said we’re staying here and I tried to show him my ‘key’ as proof but he pointed to our water and said ‘FORBIDDEN’, to cut a LONG story short..we walked round to the front entrance and thought the security man would also stop us..but he didn’t, we went to the reception and told the boy there what happened, he also said ‘FORBIDDEN’, he said he would take it from us and return it when we leave on the 12th!! So we asked to see the Manager, out he came and after a lot of B*****IT (sorry but that’s what it was) he said we could have the water but we must buy ANY food and drink to eat in the hotel FROM the hotel.
He thanked us for our ‘understanding’ which meant ‘thank you for NOT kicking off’, I’m sure there’s been a lot of confrontations over this! This also applied to the hotels OWN beach. It turned out to be a very expensive holiday!
We did see people sneaking food and drink on to the beach and no doubt into the hotel but my partner didn’t want any more aggro so we stuck to the rules.
There was a sign outside the restaurant saying no shorts to be worn, the majority of guests were wearing them and some of the young female guests looked more dressed for the beach that a restaurant.
Before I finish my ‘manuscript’ I would like to say Icemeler is a LOVELY town and the beach’s and sea are VERY CLEAN. They truly deserve the BLUE FLAG.

Room Tip: Side rooms have a new hotel being built next to them, a lot of unhappy guests in these rooms.

Summary
We would recommend the Fantasia Hotel and Icmeler as worth a visit, only book room only though. This is due to the poor quality and variety of food served at the buffet, which badly lets the hotel down. Saying that we had a good holiday, with eating out just cost more than we expected, superb location, nice small pool area, with the private beach, with free sun beds and towels, all within touching distance make this Hotel well worth a visit.
Location - Right on the beach, brilliant location, quiet in evenings, but only 12min to town centre, beach 6m across walk way.
Sleep Quality - Good size double bed, lovely to wake up to sound of waves on beach..
Rooms - Good size. Just enough wardrobe and cupboards space, walk in shower very nice and easy adjustable. If you can get a sea view room you won’t be disappointed with your view.
Service - The reception staff where good and friendly, I even queried mini bar bill all receipts available for inspection, £20 safe deposit returned, restaurant waiters not so good, beach staff and waiters excellent, drinks fetched as soon as you asked. Food served both at breakfast and dinner very poor quality and variety, buffet food trays very slow to be replenished, if you are early to dinner you get a slightly wider choice. One couple we met, poor guy only had soup and bread for the whole time they were there for evening meal.
Value - We booked through Thomas Cook and paid £1900 for 13 Nights half board for two people, not value for money in our opinion given the very poor quality of food served up, If you could book room only, are prepared to eat out in the many restaurnts I would highly recommend the Fantasia.
Cleanliness – Hotel is spotless, with rooms cleaned daily.

Room Tip: Go for sea view front rooms lovely view

We went to the Fantasia last year in a family vacations...
I've been to a few "all inclusive" hotels for leisure and I have to say Fantasia was a great experience... not the best but it was great...

They also made a white night with a special show it was just amazing!
I really would recommand it...
