“Good value for little money! Central and good location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

We stayed at Private hotel for 9 nights, and were very satisfied with our choice of hotel. Private hotel has a central location close to the beautiful canal in Icemeler, and we had a nice view to the canal from our balcony. There are several restaurants competing to play the highest music at late night, but at midnight or 00.30 it all stops. We did not bother.
There is a really nice show restaurant, Bamboo, in the same building next to the canal. Try it!
There is only a short walk down to the nice beach, and sunbeds are free of charge! Private hotel has a big clean pool, and there are sunbeds, bathing mattresses and other floating toys for free use. You may not bring your own drinks to the pool area, but bottles of water seemed to be no problem. However there is a nice pool bar with reasonable prices on food and drinks/beer, so I recommend you to buy your cold beer from the bar, as the cost of a beer was only a half Euro more, compared to the supermarket around the corner. Ice cream prices were the double. The breakfast included was simple Turkish style, and if you prefer English, it is available in the pool bar or at any cafés around. The room prices are really at a low cost, so we ordered two family studios (2x2 connected rooms) for 2 adults and 3 children, and had doors just opposite each other. Very convenient! We ordered air-conditioned rooms, and had to show our reservation to avoid paying extra, as this was expensive. However there is air condition only in one of the connected rooms, so you need to keep the door open.
We ordered a jeep safari from the nice “Norwegian” guy (at the corner 50 meters from the hotel), and this was a really funny experience. Put on bathing clothes and expect to be wet as a fish, and have a lot of fun. We also recommend a walk along the nice beach promenade to Marmaris, it is not very far.

ok where to start , stayed there 17th sept 2012, arrived late and tired fair play the staff were good no complaints, but the room ! well as others have said beware the 4th floor atttic which is where we were put , u are in the attic low ceiling old and not modern , cracked sink in bathroom cracked and broken floor , wood panelling low ceiling my partner banged his head many times. these rooms are only suitable if ur paying cheap for one on purpose , we didnt complain as we wern't there long and only slept in it . so if u get in lift and they press 4th floor complain straight away. pool was lovely no complaints there tho noone ever asked us if we wanted a drink not once and it was 35 deg . the irish bar outside tho is awesome and great fun with lovely staff so u dont need to go far and the beach is 5 mins stroll so good location. dont go inclusive not even bed and breakfast just board and eat out u can get full english for 6tl and they only have turkish breakfast . wont stay there again for sure but as always it depends what u want.

Room Tip: rooms at the back are quiet and dont let them take u to the 4th floor attic !

Have visited Turkey many occasions and when in Icmeler always stay in Private Hotel. I have seen it grow over the years and recently added their new bar area which is a nice area to spend by the pool or in the evening. A must try is the Thursday night BBQ - £10 excellent value for money. Have found rooms always spotlessly clean and staff Welcoming and helpful in every area.
The hotel is in an excellent locations for the Beach, Bars, Restaurants and a short walk to main road where you can get a bus to Marmaris.

The hotel & cleanliness is pretty good. The management & male receptionists are awful. They consistently lie & deny things at will. We arrived as a party of 7 at 1.30am in the morning to discover that my 28yr old daughter did not have a room available. The hotel stated that it was not their fault but Travel Republic who my daughter booked with. Our daughter had to stay in our room for 2 nights out of 7.We were getting nowhere with the hotel so we rang Travel Republic. (we had to pay for the internet & the international call whilst the management were watching us go through all this ). TR were disgusted & rang the hotel. Then suddenly the hotel stated that it was their fault?! I requested compensation of air conditioning for the 1 room for ther rest of the holiday, which they agreed on straight away. I confirmed it TWICE verbally with a handshake-all sorted. Two days later the same receptionist called me over & stated that if we wanted to continue to have the air conditioning, we would be invoiced & would have to pay. He denied our agreement! I then took up the issue with the Hotel Manager who just smirked continually during our conversation-so damned rude!
The arrogance of the staff is amazing. I decided to return the air conditioning remote control.
During our 2 week stay I saw other females having the same issue with a lack of availability when checking in. This hotel deserves to fail. The rooms are clean. the general facilities are good but the management is horrendous!
On a final note, the bar by the pool is a disgrace. They treat people with contempt whilst over charging customers / not giving change / asking for money the day after for alledged unpaid bills. These instances were not regarding us but loads of other hotel customers. Their best trick is to want to charge it to your hotel (even though they are apparently nothing to do with the hotel). We never used them after day 1. Stay clear of it!
On a positive note, the food in the bars & restaurants of Icmeler is exceptionally good value & quality. We made a great deal of Turkish friends who treat you the way you would like to be treated. We would definitely go back to Icmeler but definitely NOT in the Private Hotel!
P.S. This is the first time I have ever complained in this tone & manner after many ,many years of travelling abroad!

Room Tip: Don't go there!

LOVED our holiday in Icmeler. Mehmet made our week, he is fantastic company and great at getting people drinking/involved and generally having fun. Because of him we will be back next year along with a big crowd of friends to stay there.
Only back 4 days and can't wait to book again. also check in desk of the hotel - the staff were great, sorting my sons transfer out the day before he left and generally helpful and nice. Its only basic hotel but clean and tidy rooms and great staff!
thanks the Private especially Mehmet..see you next time :-)

Great location, Close to bars and restaurants, with the beach just a short walk away. Rooms basic but very clean, all the staff were really helpful and pleased to help, if they could. the temp when we stayed in Icmeler in August was average 40 C, luckily we stayed in a corner room and avoided most of the sun, so we didn't need the air con, but people who did said it was very expensive and didn't always work!!
Icmeler is a terrific resort with lots of bars both loud with lots of dancing, or just slip into one of the many bars in the side streets and there is a warm welcome at some of the quieter bars.
A must to do when in Icmeler is the trip to Turtle Beach and the Mud Baths, see Denis on the promenade for a good deal.
Kostas, again on the promenade is one ofthe best seafood restaurants in the town, and the Liverpool bar shows all premier matches and seves ice cold beer in iced glasses.
Cheap cocktails all over the town with good food at great prices, but do shop around don't get caught out by all the touts, The Florida Bar is the best restaurants we found, Great Sunday Lunch and all the food is freshly cooked to order and great value for money.
