“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013 via mobile

We arrived back in england the beginning of the month so it seems the hotel has changed since.
For a 3 star hotel i found it was nice.we were helped to the room by the night receptionist.ours was a ground floor one on a corner. The room was a little small for 4 people and 2 of the beds were like sofa beds only chairs. It was clean and the matresses were brand new. We didnt have the room cleaned for 2 days but then it was cleaned nearly every day-the sheets were very clean, floors were cleaned and the bins emptied.
We went for a drink in the bar when we put our cases down. Thomas was friendly and mustafa although he didnt speak much english was too. Richard was nice and even though he kept trying to get us to go for the entertainment and the trips he didnt pester us as such. The receptionist was moody but the other staff were nice. Mr s as we called him (the pool/handy/bar man) and the young bar girl were lovely and chatty. Thomas always made an effort to talk but i didnt find any of them 'too much'.
The breakfasts were nice but the bbq night was overpriced. The entertainment was good after 1 or 2 nights but by then id had enough of tina turner, robots and michael jackson.
I would visit the apartments again so i hope after recent reviews it gets better again

The place had good points and bad, so lets start with the bad. For me i like a bit of quiet . so the music by the pool was on all the time and too loud. I would not mind if they turned it off for a few hours a day or lowered the volume. Also the entertainment was the same every night and we noticed this even when we returned

I agree you dont want to feel guilty about wanting to go into to town and eat out and sometimes i did. yes the receptionist was the most miserable person there and even if she did not understand much English or me much turkish, a smile is the same in any language.

Good points
Thomas was polite all the time and made us feel welcome and so did Richard. My favourite person was the guy who maintained the pool, i could not say his name so we called Mr S and he was wonderful and polite. We did not pay a huge amount for this holiday so we expected basic and we stayed in the new block. the beds looked new the sheets were very clean although there was not a lot a places to put your clothes. For me if the place is clean then i have no problems. we always had clean towels. The shower was fine and the bathroom clean.

We were out and about so the bahar covered our needs.

Where to start.
Arrived late at night to be greeted by a miserable night receptionist and was shown to our room, very disappointed shower door was hanging off and the smell coming up the drain in sink was awful. Next day we went out to supermarket and bought bleach to put down and wash all the worktops. The sink leaked into the cupboard underneath and it was rotting away it was filthy. We never saw cleaners for 3 days, when they did come., it was a quick mop of the floor and the rubbish was taken away.
The pool was okay, but where the lounges were it was never cleaned, there was rotting fruit and leaves off the trees, dirty ashtrays, dirty glasses and the mattresses were filthy.
The bar manager was dismissed from his job on the 4 day and 2 other staff left with him, then receptionist (lady) got sacked,, didn't know who was staff or not... sooooo confusing for the guests there was no entertainment at night ( only entertainment we got was watching the cockroaches coming out of the shower drain in our apartment)
Speaking with other guests, most had complaints about something.
Staff are all creepy!!!!!!!
We were advised to get a receipt when we booked a late room by a family who was leaving so pleased we did, the miserable night receptionist ( horrible man) was waiting for us and he tried to tell us we had to leave our room at noon. My husband went with him and he tried to charge us another 10 pounds to use the free shower room then he said we could use an attic room,he told us people were due to be in our apartment at 3pm the day we were leaving. The next morning our phone rung in room and we were told we could keep our room till 6pm, I really think communication is none existence in this hotel

One thing good about this hole (sorry hotel) is we made friends with some lovely people and had a few good laughs about the antics here ( all we needed was for Basil Faulty to come in)
We will be back To Icmeler next year but one place for sure we will be avoiding is the Bahar.

Just back from 2 weeks at the bahar.when we arrived we got the worst room ive ever seen, stuck in the attack with 1 wardrope and 2 bedside cabinets for storage for 4 adults.the shower which was a trickle stopped working all the time and when we reported this to the girl on reception she said you will need to wait half a hr its because lots of people are using them at once.when the manager kamil came on shift I spoke to him about it and we got moved the next day.the rest of the staff were brill especially thomas who couldnt do enough to make our holiday great.THOMAS always had a smile and kind words for all of our group.i seen other comments on regarding thomas but in my view as I had 5 girls with me ageing, from 17-23that I never heard or seen thomas do our say a wrong word. If anything he was always telling them to be careful.i think thomas and my girls are all meeting up next yr for drinks look forward to seeing him myself.Nice guy

Stayed 2-18 Aug 2 adults 2 teenage girls
No clean towels
Bedding changed 4 times in 17 days
Leaking ceiling in bedroom with paint all over the floor
Air con unit on balcony tube in to a water bottle never emptied (except by me)
Rude ignorant staff ( receptionist)
Creepy bar manager (thomas)
Staff fighting in front of guests
Trying to charge 157 lira instead of 35 lira when challenged very aggresive
We have been going to icmeler for 6 years and always go s/c and have always had a fab experience but this place was disgusting I would not recommend these apartments to anyone

We have just got back from a two week stay at the bahar and i must say personally i had a great time there. We arrived at 4:30am and was greeted by the night manager who was there the last time we stayed so we knew him. I e mailed them asking them to put my mother and father in a low floor room if possible due to there walking problems which they did they saved them the bottom floor which was a good start to the holiday because i did'nt have to worry about them climing them stairs in that heat. Me and my wife were in the heavens but that did'nt bother us. The rooms were cleaned every day the first week but a bit hit and miss the second week but it was the end of ramadam so did'nt say owt. We were told by other guests to keep an eye on our bills as they were adding drinks on but ours were spot on every time no complaints there, were heard a few horror stories off people we met but luckily we had no problems what so ever. The service was a bit slow sometimes but those lads work 16 to 17 hours a day for very little money so who am i to complain about having to wait a little bit for drink. We met some great people this year and had a great time,i would go back to the bahar again but anyone who is thinking of booking a holiday here please remember that you get what you pay for and its not expensive to stay here. But to anyone who knows rob he is back next season so things should improve when he is back...!

I know that this was a bargain holiday, but some things are free.We arrived at 4.30pm, We had to wait an hour for our room. The receptionist looked miserable, as if to smile would break her face. (I have worked with public, first rule.....smile no matter how you feel).
We were asked if we wanted to come to the entertainment night they had on (since being up since 3 am i was will to agree to anything that would let me get to my room) My partner had fish which was great, i had lamb chops which were gristly and nothing to write about. The belly dancer was good and the Tina Turner entertainment was great. All the previous hotels I have stayed in in turkey have 1 entertainment night a week. We were hassled every time we walked out of the apartments ( there are gates that are open in the day, but you have to walk through the restaurant in the evening to leave.) You felt pressured when asked where are you going we have .... entertainment tonight. We were also hassled when going out to the beach, asking us what our plans were. When i go on holiday, i don't want to spend every day and evening in the hotel, I would go all inclusive if i did. It got to the point that we would nearly be running through to get out without being stopped, or if we were i would state that we had plans even if we didn't. I know its turkey and hassle is to be expected, but not at the hotel every day.

The apartment was a reasonable size but if you planned on eating more then breakfast you would struggle to cook. Reasonable selection of pans but only 1 ring to cook on.... not even a toaster. The fridge was a good size, but the in fridge freezer, was crap. Unable to freeze a small bottle of water, and could only part freeze water in the ice cube tray. The bathroom was small, but the toilet water tank was cracked and had a big chunk missing. If we had had kids they could have easily been hurt. When i showed a picture of this to the receptionist she did have someone come and look at it later in the evening. The tank was replaced the next day. Towels and bedding were changed regularly, and the toilet bin was emptied daily. However there was dust under the beds and i don't think that the shower head had ever been descaled (have they heard of legionaries) it was green. If you were lucky and wanted a shower when no one else in the block did, it was fine, however, if you wanted a shower early evening, you would fine no water flowing from ant hot tap in the apartment.
