“Why haven't we been here before?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

We have lived in Javea for 9 years plus and have never been to this restaurant. Some friends have been recommending it for some time and last night four of us went. What a find! Great atmosphere with friendly, helpful staff. A really buzzy place. Good choice of reasonably-priced tapas, bearing in mind prices of around 1.50 euros for some tapas, really good food.
When the bill came, after masses of food and wine and beers, including a tip we paid 20 euros each. Remarkable value, only achievable in a family-run restaurant.
Always busy so essential to book.
On second thoughts, ignore the above as it is hard enough to get in as it is.

“Authentic and good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

What a little gem: lively atmosphere, tasty food with plenty of options, good value for money, really nice people serving, child-friendly if you're there earlier in the evening......couldn't fault it on any level!

“A true tasca; a really good place to be.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

Apart from the people who own it and the people who frequent it there is nothing special about this place that is always full of someone; drinkers, diners, flamenco watchers, tapas eaters; but actually there is. In English tasca means pub and to a certain extent, that is what Salaito is, a local pub, but then it isn't. It is a bar, a restaurant (always full in the evenings) that has a varied menu of Spanish dishes both local and national. Food is above average, outstanding but not excellent, however it is excellent value for money. Drinks and food are great value and you even get freshly prepared tapas with your drink at the bar which often arrives after the drink has been drunk; hey ho, have another.
A small (Salaito means little room) establishment that is always interesting and is great for all occasions. Popping in for a quick drink during the day, a lunchtime snack, afternoon glass of wine, evening tapas, dinner, night time drink, late night coffee and brandy. Salaito is in the Old Town half way up (or down) a hill, easy to walk past and ignore but don't; if you find it walk in and enjoy Spanish hospitality at it's best. Miguel and his wife are stalwarts of the local community, Miguel often seen having a break and swift drink in one of the nearby bars, who run a wonderful bar/restaurant. Always cheerful, patient and accommodating; they really want you to enjoy their place, no matter your reason for being there. Once a month they squeeze a Flamenco troupe into the far end against a wall who play and dance; a good night to go (at no extra cost) for dinner. As you may have surmised I really like this place and it really is for no specific reason other than it is what it is and I like what it is. Difficult not to really.

“The Most Delicious Tapas in Javea”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

I live in Javea so have been to quite a few tapas restaurants but this is by far my favourite. You can tell from Tripadvisor that it is used mainly by the Spanish locals as the tourist tapas restaurants tend to get a lot of reviews from holidaymakers. If you can't speak Spanish please don't be put off going, just ask for a mixture of tapas you don't need to try and fathom out the menu. The food is fresh and tasty, the atmosphere is buzzing and very Spanish, the bill usually comes in at around twelve euros including wine. I can't recommend this restaurant enough
