“Rani Palace if you have had enough of paella”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

Rani Palace is the new name of the restaurant
After a couple of weeks of spanish cuisine, we were looking for something different. We like to have a taste of India every now and then, so we were attracted by the banner at the entrance claiming that this was "real indian".
Having recently visited Sri Lanka, we can say Rani Palace is up to the expectations. It is located in between L'Arenal beach and Javea Harbour just on the other side of the Avenida going along the beachfront. It has a large terrace on the outside where you can enjoy the evening sea breeze.
We had many of the classical indian dishes: aloo gobi, chicken and lamb tikka, dal soup, pakora, samosa, etc. They were all very good and each portion was more than enough for a person. The "special mixed grill" was delicious and it is the best choice if you are very hungry. Service was excellent. Most of the waiters spoke both English and Spanish.
We spent around 25 euro each drinking water and Indian beer.
All in all Rami Palace is an excellent choice if we want to avoid to become paella addicted.

“Name Changed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

Now called Rani Palace. Best Indian food in the area. Try the special lunch only 8.95€. On beach front, very good view of Javea bay.

“Went in a group of four, three were ill the day after.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2012

But thankfully not me. This really is the absolute pits. I wouldn't make my worst enemy eat this garbage. Not really worth wasting time on this place except to warn readers that if you want to live dangerously there are more pleasurable things to do than eat the food here.

“Food is horrible, not for the curry person....”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2011

I heard good things about Swagat India and went there to eat with my family. The food was terrible not for the person like me. The curry sauce was too nasty and too salty. I do not want to see that palce and do not recommend people to waste their time and money in such restaurant. Please try some more Indian place.

“Curry night in Javea has to be at Swagat!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2011

I don't like to come to Javea and then not eat local dishes, but I make an exception for Swagat.

The top place to go for some spicy treats when you're all tapas'ed out!
