“Tucked away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012 via mobile

Found this place by accident cutting through a back road.
Booked a table for the following evening even though we were staying in Moraira, we do like Javea but couldn't find anywhere to stay for our dates.
Food was dicious, apparently they used to have a ace in Moraira. I think her name was Laura, she was very nice and knew all about the food they were serving. Limited menu but very very nice.
Pity it isn't along The Arenal, but I think they do well anyway with their regulars.

“Superb!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

Although we have lived in Javea for 7 years, somehow we had managed never to eat in Sofia's until last night. It's clear this was a wasted 7 years! We were welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff and quickly had our drinks in front of us. The menu has 6 or 7 choices for all 3 courses plus several daily specials. One or two of the items (such as the beef fillet which I had) have supplements but most do not and we really struggled to make our minds up as many of the dishes were tempting. Everything we ate was superb and one could not find fault with the whole experience in general. Safe to say this is a restaurant we will be visiting again very soon. Well done Sofia's!

our first visit to sophias, small intimate restaurant with a good atmosphere, nothing too much trouble for the staff, food excellent and good value, seems to have regulars which is a good sign.well worth a visit.

“Food served with real care and attention”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

I visited Sofia's restaurant with my girlfriend earlier this summer and after a very good experience decided to take my mother here during a visit.

The food served is beautiful, it is clear that the chef puts a lot of thought and care into what he serves his customers. (On our second visit the restaurant had just started a new menu and was having a few teething problems with sourcing ingredients, which I personally took as a very good sign, really demonstrating how fresh everything used is). Also the price to quality ratio is very good!

The service on our first visit was friendly and well organised with a real sense that the waitress, (who I believe although am not sure is also the owner in conjunction with the chef) knew her product intricately which I personally feel really adds something to the dining experience.

Sadly the only thing that has stopped me from giving five stars to "Sofia's Restaurant" is the very slow service we had to endure on the second visit. We arrived between 20h00 and 20h30 and didn't leave until gone 00h00. Although the staff were very friendly the waitress who waited on us (not the same lady we had previously, although she was present) seemed to lack a real understanding of how the restaurant worked and her priorties appeared to be way off.

In all I would recommend this restaurant, the food is very good and hope that I can write off the slow service as a one off. Looking forward to visiting again.

“The best Javea”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

Visited Sofia's in August and had a wonderful meal. The food, service and atmosphere are a welcome change from the beach front restaurants and not expensive ( around 20 euro including wine). We took our 2 children (7 and 9) year olds and they were very accommodating and welcome. If you are In the Javea area make sure you book a table.
