“Foodie temple.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

Where do I begin. We had the newer menu w the wine pairing. It was easily one of the best meals of my life. I am a dedicated foodie so this is not a rating I throw around with ease. 37 courses might sound like too much but the amounts were perfect, they ever threw in a few extras for a total of 40. The wine pairings were sensational, creative, and complemented the food in ways I have never experienced before. I don't understand why other reviewers criticize the sommelier... He was such a great jolly guy with true passion for wine much like Quique's passion for food. Yes some of the wines were not from Spain but so what, it's about complementing food and I am sure the start sourcing in the vineyards in the area and then move outward. (I personally think this local sourcing of produce has gone too far...) I had the pleasure to thank mr. Dacosta in person. He is a true genius. Only way it could have been better would be if he knew me personally and had some meats and red wine as a part of the menu. Score 5.9/5. Finally a 3 star Michelin restaurants that deserves it's rating. I need to say that this is a 4hour food/wine show and not a meal so if you are not a foodie you might not enjoy this restaurant as much as I did.

“WOW!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

The meal here was fantastic from start to finish. We went for the tasting menu which was 165 euros per head plus the extra 85 euros for the matching wine and the experience was quite phenomenal.

The meal started outside on their terrace with a glass of wines - they don't do any cocktails at all which was a bit of a surprise. After the first 9 or so courses we moved indoors to a modern but very welcoming interior.

The courses were all served with an extra bit of magic and theatre (similar to the Fat Duck) and nothing was quite as met the eye. One of the savoury dishes was made to look like an ice cream dessert and there were probably about 40 courses in total.

The matching wines were imaginative and interesting too and there were so many that I still struggle to remember the final courses in as much detail as the opening ones.

Quique Dacosta himself came out to greet everyone in the restaurant too. Our lack of Spanish and his lack of English led to a very short conversation but it was a nice touch.

All in all a fantastic experience which mixed some of the traditional dishes you'd get from the area with some contemporary experimentation which worked 9 times out of 10. There were possibly 2 dishes out of the many that we ate which didn't quite agree with my taste buds, but that's part of the charm of trying new things.

If you want to dine at an exceptional restaurant in the area I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

A fabulous cooking with a lot of creativity and a sense of perfume, taste and color totally amazing. Quique Dacosta cooking is also very sensitive and beautiful It is our third visit and this time we bring our kids ( 18 and 20 years old) for their first 3* restaurant for a birthday. They loved it . It is a dream.
We will come back.
A special thank to the Maitre french d'Hotel.

“Delightful experience, worth the special occasion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

It's difficult to write something new that others have not already mentioned about this restaurant with three Michelin Stars. We reserved two months in advance and were lucky to be seated (the Maitre kindly kept our table even though we were nearly 90 minutes late... not our fault but that's a different story, and I had warned him).

We opted for the "shorter" menu (because we were so late and in any case the quantities were more than sufficient). We found ourselves surprised by the number of dishes to be eaten with our fingers. Mind you that was not at all a problem, only an observation. The experience goes "in crescendo", in other words you are brought increasingly surprising dishes, textures and tastes. Everything very delicate and visually attractive. A fine dining experience.

The service was also 5* (discreet, efficient, courteous) and we were not forced to consume alcohol, which was a plus since we had a 4 hour journey ahead of us.

All in all we keep a very fond memory of our time there... even though this was to celebrate the end to our Summer Holidays.

“Dining at its best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

This was our second visit to this restaurant - this time we took a friend who was equally impressed.
It is hard to describe just how good the food is as you really do have to go there to appreciate the spectacular food experience. We were amazed at how the kitchen dreams up the unforgettable tastes and smells for the enquiring palate! We can certainly see why they now have their third Michelin star!
The whole experience blended seamlessly together into an entertaining, fun gastronomic journey which we all enjoyed.
The staff are all attentive and professional and we couldn't fault any aspect.
Although pricey we felt it was good value for what we had.
