“The Best Big Cat Park ever.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2010

Just got back From Out of Africa down in Camp Verdi, AZ and must say if you are in Arizona be it Sedona or Phoenix you must see this park.
It opens at 9:30 am and be there when it opens you might get a special tour by Al before anyone else gets there. Also go on a Wednesday, Friday or Sunday as that is the days the feed all the Big preditors. They do it at 3PM and it is fantastic. Don't mis the Tiger Swim Show as you will get to see 2 tigers jump 5 feet in the air to attack items and jump in the pool.
You can bring your own Lunch and sit in the picnic area and eat, or head into Cotton wood for lunch. Then come back for the Tiger Swim and then the feed. Also take your safari tour at 4pm (just make sure they know you want one then). Eat lunch between 11 and 12:30.
The Animals are soo close and the best looking Lions and tigers I have ever seen. I will try and post some pictures.
The cost for this attraction is $36 usd for the whole day including all shows.
And you can buy a 1 year return pass for unlimited trips on the day you go there for just $20.

“nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2010

If you are expecting a typical zoo, this isn't the place to go. It is an environmentally, animal friendly place however where the animals are treated well, that seems to be the priority, to keep everything as natural as can be. My granddaughter and I enjoyed the Tiger and Bear Splash events, however while watching these a little girl sitting nearby got stung by a bee so be careful of these while there! We went in November and it was still a bit uncomfortably hot to be walking around in the Arizona sun all day. I suggest suntan lotion and a hat for sure if you are planning a visit here. Also you need good, sturdy walking shoes and don't worry about staying clean, the Arizona dust will cover you by the time you are done, like it or not! The safari bus ride was the most fun thing to do, as you can be out of the hot sun; our tour guide was very informative and we learned alot. We stopped a couple of times to feed the camel and giraffe during the bus tour and my granddaughter enjoyed that. Bring something to drink as the refreshment stand had very long lines and the prices were high, and you WILL get thirsty.

“Really Cool Experience only Short Drive from City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2010

Great place to go and spend a half a day if your visiting Scottsdale or Phoenix. We dont have any kids and we are in our mid 20's. I just wanted to go in order to get away from shopping and eating for a day in Scottsdale. The drive through the mountains from Scottsdale is as amazing as the park itself.

“A Wonderful Place to visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2009

My children and I visited Out of Africa Wildlife Park on December 23, 2009 and had the time of our lives. This park gives you the opportunity to enjoy the experience of an African Safari without having to leave the country. I highly recommend that if you are in Arizona, that you take a day and visit the park.

“Wonderful will visit again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2009

This was such an incredible place to visit I can't wait to go back again sometime. It was wonderful to see animals that aren't stuck in a small cage. The information and stories behind how the animals ended up at the park made it even more special. Our guides were knowledgeable and you could tell they loved working with the animals. It was such a special experience and well worth the money. To those that complained it wasn't stroller friendly it is built in the desert and kept comfortable for the animals it isn't a zoo it is a wildlife park. There were plenty of bathrooms and handwashing places so I don't know where this comment came from. The concession stand did take too long that is one comment I agree with. The gift shop was reasonable and not totally expensive like many gift shops at zoos can be. We had 6 people in our group and we all loved the park and said we would return.
