“A Really Lovely Place to Relax”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

The interior of Murcia away from the beach is not a well-known area so this delightful small hotel is, as people keep saying, a real find, in trad-style buildings very carefully created in a hill village. Andrés, his family and staff are exceptionally welcoming in a quiet, unfussy way and couldn't do more for you, pointing out everything there is to do around the area including great walks. Rosa's evening meals are superb, imaginative and hugely enjoyable – especially her fabulous watermelon gazpacho – and Andrés is also a considerable wine expert. Rooms are very comfortable, tastefully modern and have great views – especially the suite – and the pool is ideal for cooling off after a hike. El Berro is also a very friendly village, with an easygoing bar with good tapas for lunch. Couldn't want any more.

My wife & I, together with two visitors to us from the UK, stayed for 2 nights in a Suite & a superior double room. The rooms & the general areas were very clean, modern & well presented. Owner & Staff were excellent - very friendly & helpful & cater for your every need. The location is superb & the views outstanding. We had dinner at the hotel each night; the food was first class, cooked on the premises using local fresh ingredients by the owner's sister. Breakfast too was extremely good & plentiful to start your day. Will certainly return.

Wonderful stay; staff is extremely friendly and attentive to all details. All meals were wonderful and extremely well presented and served. Rooms were very clean and large; overall an excellent value for the money. Everything was as promised, and overall better than expected. An incredible find!

Room Tip: All rooms are great but rooms on second floor have their own terraces

We spent a very happy four days at this beautiful country hotel. The rooms so tastefully furnished and comfortable. Pool and grounds quirky and really stunning. We ate fantastic food in front of an open fire and drank very good wine. Felt very spoiled. That is what you want from a holiday.

If you like it quiet and peaceful this is it.Just an hour from Murcia airport and you are in peaceful Spain.Made a very beautiful hotel. They promised internet in all areas but I had to go to the collective living room for this. The breakfast is good but besides tomatoes no vegetables and no eggs in any form.bread only white.Home made fruit juice was tasty. We at once dinner which was fine but rather expensive for what you get. In the village is a very original village restaurant "la parra" which serves cheap and exellent food.My husband had there the best entercote ever (and he does not give compliments easily) also the red wine of the house was perfect. After our walk (2 walks 7 and 10 km are mapped) we sat down at Angela's camping place and at tapas and had wine (2 rounds for both of us) just perfect and all for 6 euros.
All together recommended !!

We have just stayed for two nights on the 5th@6th Nov at Bajo el Cejo. All I can say is the standard of the accommodation, the wonderful food and stunning location made this a memorable and highly enjoyable experience. We were made to feel really welcome and were very comfortable. I think this will not be our last visit.
