“Impossible to beat.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2012

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 9 years or so and anyone would be hard pressed to beat the quality, ambience and value. It has commanding views over the town of Puerto de Mazarron which has a beautiful new marina. The cleanliness of the hotel is first rate, the staff are very helpful and changes are always being made to the decor. which is very pleasing to the eye. It is very unlikely that any visiter will not be impressed.

I stayed here alone for two nights in a twin room with a balcony. The sea view when I opened the door was amazing! The room was spacious and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean and very calm. It was always busy but never noisy. It is clearly a much loved hotel by locals and visitors alike. I really liked the eclectic decoration- not fussy, just very honest, a little dated and quite OTT in some places- but great for it. If you like bland corporate hotels, this isn't the place for you. If you want a great stay, in a spotless hotel, with comfy beds, a good breakfast and a gorgeous sea view, La Cumbre is the place. I'd go again in a shot!

This was a nice comfortable hotel in a lovely location overlooking the sea. The room was clean, bright, spacious, with a balcony. It was reasonably priced. The staff were efficient. However Wi-FI reception was not available in the bedrooms. It was necessary to sit in the lobby at reception to receive a signal. It appears that the hotel rooms are divided in 2 separate blocks, which was confusing, as it required 2 separate elevators to take our luggage from the car park to our rooms.
We can recommend this hotel for both business and holiday purposes, as it is suitable for both purposes.

A real gem of a hotel despite the breakfast being truly the smallest choice I have ever seen. Bread, Fake Ham, Cheese and Fake Coffee, a few cheap cakes, fruit, yoghurt and cheap cereal. (NOTE: The hotel was full of Senior Mundo guests, the Spanish goverment scheme that gives virtually free holidays to pensioners. Probably the cause of the limited breakfast) The very low rate we paid was however great value for the time of year and the location more than made up for any moans we had. Feel sure the food is better when the rates are not so low!

Rooms are spotlessly clean, a good size and offer decent bathrooms, good showers and large screen TV´s and balconies with truly stunning sea or mountain views. All you need for a holiday hotel and typical 3* quality.

The grassed terraces offer a superb place to sit all day if you prefer, with a pool, cafe bar and plenty of sunbeds, modern seating areas, chairs and private chill out areas with sofas in shaded parts of the gardens (someone seems to have been let loose at the local Ikea) this makes it a unique place to really enjoy the outside areas. (see photos for those views!)

Ideal for couples with a car who want to explore the area and spend time relaxing too. Above average hotel for the rating. We would stay again for the views. NOTE: Hotel does have good FREE WiFi in the reception area and plenty of FREE parking too.

Room Tip: Request a "vista mar"

Not much to say, really quaint 1980's 'package deal' type hotel. Great off season deal thru trivago - £23 for the night room only. Incredibly friendly staff, spotlessly clean, basic room, safe, minibar, everything you need.

A bit far from the main town up a bit of a hill (about a kilometre) but worth the walk, lots of English bars and pizza joints etc. Great little place for a late drink.

The hotel's 'Zen Bar' is really chilled, a Moroccan feel. No complaints at all here, great value for money!

This hotel is one of the best value hotels we have ever stayed in. It was only overnight bu the staff, the cleanliness and the restaurant were very good. Whilst it is a little dated this is more than made up for in the service, facilities and views.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms are facing the sea and have balconies with table and chairs. So that fact makes th...
