“Better than average business hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Stayed here twice during a visit to Frederick in the last couple of weeks. The rooms are a good size and clean. The bathrooms are also a good size with decent showers. One of the rooms I stayed in also had a bath which is always a bonus.

The breakfast was reasonable with a good selection of fruit and cereal. The hot food was a bit ropey but for the price you can't expect a freshly cooked breakfast I suppose.

The staff were very helpful and friendly.

It's a good location if you're staying in Frederick and you don't want to rely on a car. All the other hotels in the area are a good few miles out of town.

No problem with internet in room. Good speed and reliable,

This hotel was build a few years ago and we highly recommend it, especially for people wanting to stay on this side of Frederick. Our company has put up several visitors here in the past 2 years. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. They also have conference rooms if you want to schedule a meeting there. The hotel is within a mile of several low-budget restaurants and about 2 miles from the downtown area that has many great restaurants of all kinds. Parking is free. Ask for a room facing west or north for a better view of the mountains.

To address the previous reviewer, the lobby has a bank of computers that were working perfectly yesterday. There is a printer that can copy your airline reservation..or anything you need.
Special kudos go to our Sunday breakfast helper, who didn't seemed pressed and yet kept the busy DR in good order (even for a ravenous but sleepy soccer team). This nice lady visited each table, smiling and removing used packets, etc. We lingered, enjoying a friends fest, and we were never disturbed.
Comfy beds, a good shower head, quick lifts, easy access..all the elements. Smiling, efficient check out.
Hampton Inn is located just off the Motter Avenue exit of Rt 15 on the north end of Frederick.
There is a new Walgreens drugstore practically next door, a Weiss Market a couple of hundred yards across Oppossumtown Pike (it becomes Motter Ave. on the Frederick side of the 15 overpass. Historic downtown Frederick is about two miles away. Hood College, off Rosemont Avenue, is two miles via Rt. 15. Frederick Community College is about one mile further. There are restaurants along Thomas Johnson Drive (doctor's row) and a Roy Rogers and a chicken take out near the Weiss store.
Sadly, Frederick does not have lodging in the historic area, but plans exist for a boutique hotel near Carroll Creek. But for now, the Hampton Inn Ft. Dietrick is the best choice.
The other Hampton Inn is on the south (Washington) side of Frederick and close to the Francis Scott Key Mall, a plus if you are a big shopper or want a huge selection of fast food emporiums.
There is also a Holiday Inn on the highway side of the Mall.
Choose the Mall inn for the Frederick Keys ballpark, Mt. Olivet Cemetary, or shopping.

Room Tip: Great overnight 40 miles N of Washington. Historic, charming American small town with notable easter...

The Staff, the breakfast, the room and the pool were all top notch. However, the internet connection was the worse I have seen in the last 10 years. I could not connect to my bank, my home, any "stream" or live connections. I can not stay here again until the internet is fixed. However, I recommend it to anyone who does not need a connection as the staff and hotel are excellent.

If you ever have a need to visit Frederick Maryland, you must stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Frederick-Fort Detrick. The staff at this location really does take pride in the job they do, all staff members. The hotel is up to date in , clean, and very pleasing to the eye. The hotel is centrally located in Frederick, to its downtown, route 15, route 70. Plenty of parking, and just an overall secure feeling to the overall location. This is one of those gems you keep in your address book for the next time.

The manager has done an outstanding job at this location, and I would like to thank him ad his entire staff.

Until next time!!

Clean, comfortable, with a very friendly and helpful staff. I enjoyed the pool, exercise room, and jacuzzi. Coffee and tea in the lobby at all times and fresh fruit for breakfast are a definite plus. The location was very convenient.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. The room was clean, had a microwave and refrigerator, and well taken care of. There was breakfast provided in the hotel, from 6am-10am for the hotel guests as well. The only negative to the hotel was the really slow 500kbs internet connection, wired or wireless that was provided by the hotel. Would recommend!
