Went for anniversary over volt..better experience food selection... less pretentious. .both are good but steak and chops were amazing. A little louder than normal but enjoyable.

The Tasting Room chefs often have entree specials that are trendy and unique, and always delicious. Yes, try the specials. Tasty and true entrees like the steaks are always a great choice. They pay attention to the freshness of the seafood and every shrimp dish will sparkle with freshness. Cream based soups are always smooth, the correct taste and consistency, and never lumpy. Broth and tomato based soups are equally superb. Fruit based deserts, pastry or puddings are tops in choice. The main room is small and can be crowded for the prime dinner hours on weekends. Skip the higher priced wines for the lower priced ones, which are chosen for their all-around adaptability. Bar drinks are well made. Bread, pastry and baked goods are fresh and shine! Atmosphere is more character than trendy like the nearby and way overpriced Volt. The Tasting Room is an around good choice. End with their coffee, fresh flavorful, hot and medium in taste. Park in the close by municipal parking garage, which is safe and convenient, and dry on rainy evenings.

The Tasting Room has been a favorite of ours since it opened its doors for both lunch and dinner. The strip steak, lobster bisque, and lobster baked potatoes cannot be compared to any other. The rockfish and the panko shrimp appetizer is a favorite as well. Know that you are paying for what you get...this is not an inexpensive dining experience. The seating is extremely tight on a busy evening, but if you can reserve the private dining room in the back, you will not be disappointed in the least. Service has always been friendly and upbeat. I highly recommend the splurge. After dinner, wonder through downtown Frederick. Makes for a great evening!

We have dined at the Tasting Room several times and have always found it crowded, nioisy and overpriced. The food is excellent, but there are places within a block that are less pricey and the food is just as good if not better. And it wouldn't take much to beat the atmosphere of this tiny room with too many tables and noise levels that defeat conversation. Try someplace else.
