I always stop in here while my son gets a haircut next door at Sportsclips. (A teenager who already loves the full treatment with the steamed towel...) For you local folks, Valpak usually has a coupon for a free drink or even a free sub sometimes when you order another one at Firehouse Subs. I use this and it helps to pay for the haircut! Sandwich prices aren't over the top but not cheap, either. Portions are not bodacious like some sandwich places but who needs the extra carbs, anyway? (OK maybe you're there because it is called Firehouse Subs and you're a Fireman and you need your big carbs...Sorry!)
Do allow time when you come in here to get your meal made. For some reason, they get your order in ASAP (and are always very nice, especially the woman owner whose name I don't have) and then there is this long delay in getting your food. If you are trying to run out the door to get back to work, be sure to allow extra time. There are fun TV's with all kinds of cool sports programs going on so this helps to pass the time. I don't have cable and was able to catch some of Wimbeldon. Jolly good!
During my last visit, I tried the Italian Chopped Salad which was delicious! All of the veggies, lettuce and cheeses were chopped up in small pieces (food processor definitely involved) so it's easy to eat and enjoy all of the flavors without big hunks of peppers and lettuce sticking out of your mouth. Sounds like good First Date food to me!
