“Well hidden local hangout with amazing food”

Frisco's is a hidden gem in Frederick. It's tucked away in an industrial park and does little advertising, bringing in business by word of mouth and reputation alone. The food is outstanding. An overwhelming array of sandwiches as well as soups, salads and meal sized stuffed baked potatoes. Everyone will tell you to get the exploded potatoes on the side. It's a cross between a stuffed baked potatoes (with green onions and bacon) and hot potato salad. It's delicious.

The place can get very loud during a busy time because of the high ceilings and cement walls. There is also music playing, so don't go there expecting a quiet meal and conversation with your dining partner. They do have upstairs seating and outdoor seating when the weather is nice. The upstairs can be reserved for private groups but also works as overflow seating when the downstairs dining room gets full.

Frisco's does a great catering business as well. I first found out about them because my husband's employer often ordered their sandwich trays for work functions. We had a small gathering in their upstairs room for my son's birthday and everyone loved the sandwich trays.

Frisco's sells a variety of local beers and wines and boasts a wine shop next door. Every Friday they run a special where you pay only $1 above wholesale price for wine. Sadly the little ice cream shop in between the restaurant and wine shop is closing. But rumor has it that they are using that space to expand the wine shop. So, that will be nice for those who enjoy the wine.

Overall, Frisco's is a great casual place for a hearty lunch. Good for a gathering of friends. Lively atmosphere with generous portions and modest prices. Spread the word!

“Exploded bake Potatoes Rock”

A great eatery in a hard-to-find location but well worth the effort. Huge overstuffed sandwiches and the exploded baked potatoes (also available in quantity to take home) are simply outstanding

“hard to find...but worth it!”

MANY choices of fresh and fabulous food creations in this deli-style restaurant. We haven't had anything we didn't like. I highly recommend the exploded potatoes! They soup is awesome, too!

“Best food in Frederick”

The sandwiches are really good and huge portions. I dream about the Exploding Mashed Potato Salad and the Chili. Relatively inexpensive as well. We make pilgrimages here from Ellicott City. People are nice enough and the decor is a little wierd, but i definitely recommend it.

“The BEST”

Wow. We went there twice for lunch and it was FABULOUS both times. The exploded potatoes were so gooooooood. Get a small if you are eating something else. In our group, we had sandwhiches, salads, exploded potato (yes, worth mentioning twice) and everything was good. The guys tried the flat iron steak sandwhich and said it was great. The cobb salad (small is big) was amazing as well. GO THERE!!!!! Oh yeah, and they have there wine on sale at the little store next door every Friday.
