“Delicious Mediterranean Food in a Pretty Setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

Recently visited a second time and enjoyed even more than the first. Very pretty room, excellent choices and so many of them. This time the service was really good, the first time very slow. I would love to return in spring to sit outside on the patio. There were six of us and we each ordered two dishes and had food leftover. Everything we had was delicious. My only complaint this visit was that they had a sax player (brunch) who played well but it was too loud. Very very nice experience, and I will return. You can't get tired of this menu as it is so large and varied!

“Fun date night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Excellent food and outstanding service. My wife and I went here for a date night without the kids. The staff was very helpful with the menu selections and we enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the live music.

“A real gem.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

One of the best Middle Eastern, meze-focused restaurants we have ever visited (and we have frequented many both in the US and abroad) on the basis of the four dishes we enjoyed. Fried baby mackerel was perfectly prepared and uncannily fresh as if from the sea; we learned that the fish is shipped weekly (not frozen but on ice) from Izmir, Turkey; the spaghetti squash with pesto was interesting and superb; the zucchini and feta "latke" was just as good; the falafel was prepared just right. Ambience is warm (in the former Tauraso Restaurant space). Living in DC, we do not know a ME restaurant that can pull off a single dish as well as any of the four we sampled.

“Amazing food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

My son suggested we go to Ayse Meze. Having never eaten eastern Mediteranean food, I was a little skeptical. The meal ended up being great. We ordered 8 different items from the menu. Price of each item as $5 - $10. Total price of the meal for the three of us was only $78.

Lots of great choices. We order the items three at a time, which was fun. Each one was more delicious than the next. The cookie sampler finished off the meal with a great sweat treat.

I highly recommend this place. The food is not spicy, just seasoned to be really tasty. Service was great. No pressure to eat and get out as some restaurants can be.

The menu has just enough information to pick out the items. Our waitress was really helpful in explaining some of the items.

Make sure you order the Opaa Saganaki. Flamed cheese in a skillet that is amazing.

“Outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

What a fun place. Food was great with a unbelievable variety of choices. Interesting in that after you order the food comes out in no particular sequence. You need to be flexible and willing to try something unusual. Service was very good.
