If you buy new clubs every year, must spend $50 or more on green fees, only play on courses straight out of Golf Digest, and expect to be pampered hand and foot while playing, this is not the place for you.
HOWEVER, if you just want to go out and have fun, where you are not focused on the score but on having fun chasing the little white ball all over the place, this is the place!
You can't beat the price - A 27 hole course with unlimited play (walking) for $10.25 (or $8 twilight!). The price with cart is still very reasonable.
It is a "pasture" type course, not a huge variation in landscape or hole layout, but that makes it easy to walk. A great place for a beginners, families, or more experienced golfers who want to experiment.
Fairway and greens conditions vary with the weather, but for the price one can tolerate a lot. The staff is very nice and friendly. The only drawback is no driving range, but at these prices you can't have everything.
No reserved tee times, it is first come first serve, but with a choice of two different holes to start from there is rarely wait. There are no course marshals but play seems to move fast. The folks who play here are friendly - after all, they are there for fun and not to show of their golf skills (grin), and frequently let solo golfers play through..
It is a very short drive from downtown Frederick and the hotels in/around the city. On a nice day, for an easy, low key round of golf, it is well worth it. Overall a nice, friendly place to play!
