“nice place for a walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Baker Park is a nice long park with tennis courts, a community pool, playground equipment, picnic tables and more. It has a paved path for walking, and stretches about 4 blocks with pedestrian tunnels under some city streets. A nice quiet place to take a walk during the week or the family for a picnic. The city sponsors music some weekend nights at the bandshell.

“Full of interesting things”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

At Baker Park you can play softball, throw a frisbee, fly a kite, listen to the carillon (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carillon), have a picnic, swim, feed ducks, see black-crowned night herons, walk your dog, let your kids play, walk around, or just find a comfortable place to sit and read your book or watch people. It's a beautifully kept park all year-round.

“Beautiful Park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

It's a beautiful park and has a nice walking trail. There are dog stations everywhere that give free poop and scoop bags; unfortunately, a lot of people don't use them.

Wonderful park for walking, picnicing, and watching the world go by. Very spacious and shade is plentiful. Water fountain is very nice.

“Beautiful park, with free parking adjacent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Baker Park is a lovely stretch of greenery in the pretty historic downtown district of Frederick. It is close to the linear park (ie Carroll Creek) and to Barbara Fritchie's house and indeed to the various attractions downtown (including the excellent Museum of Civil War Medicine). But the Visitors' Center also advised me that there is free all day parking in Fleming Ave, near the swimming pool, so you don't have to use Frederick's several huge and expensive parking garages.
