We had a wonderful lunch at this restaurant. The food was good, service excellent and atmosphere relaxing. Since it was three friends catching up, the fact that we weren't rushed or yelling at one another to be heard was fantastic! The restaurant also offers outdoor seating on the canal and has a bar, and private dining room as well as the main dining, where we were seated. We all opted for the $19 two course lunch and found the portions to be ample- left satisfied and full, not overstuffed and no leftovers. We each did a flight/wine sample and that is what brought up our bill. Despite that, trying a variety of wines, that you can also purchase, was very fun and informative since you also receive info cards with your wines. I picked the local flight and had three wines from the Frederick area and ended up buying two of them - I had no idea that there were vineyards in the area, and these bottles will make nice gifts to MD friends!
Also, note that the menu while not huge, has a nice range of options, including vegetarian choices. My girlfriend had the mussels and a salad with the $19 deal and she said for portion and tastes it was a steal; I had a salad and the mushroom, goat cheese tart and my husband had a korean chicken sandwich and a salad, with a side of cowboy fries.
We definitely ate and drank well!
