Description: VOLT offers guests a menu of modern American cuisine. The focus of our cuisine is based on classic flavor combinations, creating sophisticated dishes that emphasize purity and seasonal flavors that are based on fundamental and innovative cooking techniques. VOLT's relationship with local artisan farmers ensures availability of products to fulfill the philosophy behind the menu, in a refined, historic venue where classic meets modern. By design, the restaurant follows along the original footprint of the mansions first floor parlors. Both the 38 seat main dining room and the bar/lounge open off the foyer. The original mosaic tile in the foyer was the inspiration behind the warm monochromatic color palette that adorns the finishes in VOLT. Private dining can be hosted in the conservatory offering views of the expansive courtyard. The 700 square foot kitchen afforded space to include up to 20 guests.

“Table 21 is a lot of fun and a memorable night out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

The cost is a bit excessive ($700 for 2 people including a wine flight for 2 and tip), but "table 21" is a lot of fun and a memorable night out. Each of the 21 small plate courses were interesting and very tasty. Several of the courses were amazing, but a few were just average. The courses were spaced out perfectly and the service was impeccable. The wine pairings were outstanding ($105/pp consisting of 7 wines from different regions; each of the wines were excellent). Up to 8 people can be seated at table 21 but if you are going with friends it is impossible to converse with people seated at the other end of the table. Table 21 has a bird's eye view of the kitchen and the chefs at work. I was very impressed with how smooth the kitchen ran and the chef and the rest of the staff provided excellent explanations of the food that was prepared (we went on a week night that was not too busy).

Table 21 is a great choice if you are willing to splurge for a special occasion.

“INTERESTING”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Interesting is the title of this review because of the unusual combination of ingredients within each dish served. A $300 gift certificate was used for two people and we spent only a small amount over that. They offer a la carte and a choice between two several course dinners. We had about five or six very generous dishes. Oatmeal as part of one, sea lettuce and morels in another, green strawberries as part of another and for dessert beet sorbet. Unusual, but not always outstanding. Beautiful 1800's home, in town, with main dining room, bar and the ability to sit and watch the chefs with tweezer in hand. Overall, a most interesting meal, if that is what you are up for. Extra dessert for the birthday boy!....something truly delis!

“Still knocking it out of the park!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

This return visit to Volt proved that Chef Voltaggio and his staff have not become complacent to any degree. The menu is actually better in that you are not tied to a three or five course meal; you can order a la carte in the main dinning room or even at the bar, where you can watch cocktails being created by the relaxed and experienced mixologists. The food - well, it just may be the best meal you'll ever have. Everything is truly a wonderful experience to put in your mouth. To eat quickly here is a sin, in my opinion. While I always feel that the food and service are well worth the money, lunch on the weekends remains the best value.

“Art on a Plate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

Lovely building...attentive service....great drink at the bar (airmail)....delicious bread.....
Excellent lamb and chocolate dessert. The donuts were dry and didn't taste fresh. Others agreed.
We had a reservation for a Saturday at 12:00 pm. We got there at noon but our table wasn't ready. Wine list is pricey. They didn't have the wine that I wanted on the menu so they gave us one that cost $8 more but didn't charge the difference. It's a nice place for a special occasion.

“Birthday Brunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

After waiting two years to go to Volt, Birthday Brunch was worth the wait. Affably the best most enjoyable meal accompanied by family. Starting with a Spring Pea dish with a nut purée that was outstanding then moving to the omelet (nothing left of that either) with a side of bacon covered doughnuts! The crowning touch was dessert - we each had the same thing and would not have wanted to share - marshmallow and chocolate - outstanding!
