Description: VOLT offers guests a menu of modern American cuisine. The focus of our cuisine is based on classic flavor combinations, creating sophisticated dishes that emphasize purity and seasonal flavors that are based on fundamental and innovative cooking techniques. VOLT's relationship with local artisan farmers ensures availability of products to fulfill the philosophy behind the menu, in a refined, historic venue where classic meets modern. By design, the restaurant follows along the original footprint of the mansions first floor parlors. Both the 38 seat main dining room and the bar/lounge open off the foyer. The original mosaic tile in the foyer was the inspiration behind the warm monochromatic color palette that adorns the finishes in VOLT. Private dining can be hosted in the conservatory offering views of the expansive courtyard. The 700 square foot kitchen afforded space to include up to 20 guests.

“Consistently Special”

My family and I had Easter brunch here. We have been here numerous times before for Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc. The staff is very attentive and the food is imaginative and delicious.

“Did not eat!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

We like to do happy hour. We went here knowing they probably didn't have discounts for HH but was excited about getting a drink and eating off the Lounge menu. We thought this would be an affordable way to try a restaurant that is out of reach of a lot of us. We we saddened when we learned they discountinued their Lounge menu. Mixed drinks ranged from $8 to $11. They did have a PBR for $3. We were most disappointed that they didn't have the lounge food to try. I can't judge the food because we didn't eat any.

“Interesting...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

This restaurant was recommended by a 31 year old relative who lives in Washington DC. We sat in the Chef's kitchen and had the 7 course tasting menu ($95 each). I enjoyed watching the chefs do their work. Every dish had several different flavors in it and was like a work of art. We didn't recognize many of the ingredients. It is an interesting experience, but not one I will repeat in the future. Despite the fact that the food was great and the service impeccable, it was way too expensive ($18 for a glass of moderately good wine).

“nice brunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

We that is my 7 member family went to Volt for a birthday brunch for my daughter.
They gave us a nice room with great windows. They provided a little history about the building and that they use local vendors when ever they are able to.
The brunch menu was a three couse meal with great choices for each course. The service was great and the food was amazing. Not some place I can go even once a month but a really great special occision place and we will certainly return.

“Beyond expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

My husband and I chose different things from the four course prix fixe menu. The australian beef, lobster, beet appetizer, kampachi and sweetbreads were our favorites. Service was impeccable and the sommelier knew his wines. We are looking forward to returning for the seven course kitchen menu soon.
