We love to support farm to table dining, and have been very pleased that Frederick has so many of them. Firestone's was the next one on the list after Volt, Wine Kitchen, and Family Meal, which were all good.
Firestone's has taken over the location from an old pub. The place is very warm, and pub-like, but upscale. We sat upstairs by the windows and enjoyed watching the street life while we dined. Food was excellent. We didn't order much as we were attempting to try a few other eating experiences while we were there (ice cream, chocolates, and cupcakes). So, consequently, we ended up splitting a lunch. We had the corned beef sandwich, which is made from local meat and smoked in-house. All their food is made from scratch and they use local ingredients as much as possible. We loved the sandwich, it's amazing mustard sauce, the tasty bread it was on, and the cucumber salad that come with it. Delicious!
Highly recommend them! We'll be going back for a bigger meal next time.
