I stayed here a few weeks ago and could not have been more pleased with the experience. Please note that this property has only been a Sleep Inn since around the beginning of this year (2014), and so all reviews prior to this year refer to the days when it was a Holiday Inn Express hotel. I stayed there many times in those days, and while it is true that the quality of the hotel started slipping a few years ago, it has been revitalized and renovated marvelously now that it is a Sleep Inn. Personally, I really like the cozy queen bed rooms which are perfect for a solo traveler or a couple. I paid a lot less for my room a few weeks ago than what I was used to paying when it was a Holiday Inn Express, and the quality this time around as the new Sleep Inn was much better. The lobby and breakfast area look great and honestly, for all you get in quality for a night's stay here, the price simply cannot be beat. Service at check in and check out was great and everyone I dealt with during my stay including the housekeeping staff were pleasant and professional. While it's true that you can hear the trains at times behind the hotel slowly moving into downtown Barstow, I never hear them while in the hotel, and the train sounds have personally never been a problem for me. I'm really glad that this hotel has been updated with a new name and new management as I always liked staying at this property until it started to not be so great anymore as a Holiday Inn Express. As a newly renovated hotel however, it is back to being my preferred destination whenever staying in Barstow!
