“Get a little kick of Route 66 here”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

An eclectic mix of memorabilia, artefacts and history crammed into three or four rooms. Entry is free and you can happily while away an half an hour or so wandering around the museum and its well-stocked shop. The lady running it was chatty and had complementary soft drinks and biscuits on offer.

“Great Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013 via mobile

This museum is well worth the time. It has a lot of cool things to look at. A lot of memorabilia from the glory days of route 66.

“A great place to break your journey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

We stopped by en route from Vegas to Anaheim. Having driven parts of Route 66 on previous visits to California, and with kids who love the movie Cars, we thought it would be a nice place to break the journey and take in some of the history. As other reviewers have said, the free entry is a bonus and our kids (hopefully) helped out by buying some mementos. Writing is having just subjected myself to the frenetic freeways of outer Los Angeles, it was nice to have been reminded about a time when travelling was as much about the journey, rather than simply reaching the destination in the shortest possible time. The only thing I would add is that it is not too well signposted when heading into town from the east (from Vegas); make a right on First Street and over the railroad bridge. Oh, and it probably doesn't pay to ask for the quickest way back to I-15 as you leave (sorry!).

“A decent smattering of Route 66”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

It's kind of a lot of random stuff, no central narrative really, but it is focused on Route 66 and interesting to see. At free admission the price is certainly right (and you can leave a donation or buy something in the shop), and it doesn't take that long to see. It probably also makes a good local history museum for the local kids. Thirty minutes or so gives a good overview of the local evolution of the "Mother Road". The gift shop is well stocked and appropriate to the museum's purpose. Enjoyable.

“Very rustic and friendly.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

We have been here twice and always fun, to look at all the old stuff. The folks who mange this are very friendly and will help explain all the displays. If your in Barstow with time on your hands this is worth the look.
