“As warm a welcome as ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

Stayed 4 nights in early May on a half board basis with friends for a short golfing break. We had not been here since 2010 and the welcome and service were as good as ever. Food was even better and nothing could be too much for the staff. Special mention for Luis who just keeps on going looking after everyone. Breakfast on the terrace was a bonus but having to carry coffee and tea to the table irritates me.
Our bedroom had a balcony overlooking the main hotel , gardens and cliff walk and was spacious and always clean.
Aigua Blava is a great family hotel with a large swimming pool.
A cracking hotel to which we will be going back.

Room Tip: Choose a bedroom with a view over the bay.

It is around 10 years since we last visited AB and the standards have remained as high as ever.

A high quality hotel, set in delightful gardens with excellent pool, very comfortable rooms, with stunning views, and most important, top level friendly service, lead in the restaurants by Luis, top man!

With very interesting menus, and a good sensibly price wine list, who could ask for more!

Room Tip: Ask for sea view.

We've been visiting Aigua Blava since the early 1960s. Needless to say we love it! This is a very special hotel with a unique location; the service is unsurpassed and we visit whenever we can. The pool is gorgeous and you can swim in the sea so easily too, either off the tiny beach just beneath the hotel or off the "slab" - where you can dive into deep water safely. The rooms are wonderfully comfortable and the views stunning.

we stayed here in april 10 days - to be honest we were not quite sure what to expect - but starting the decent from the main road gave us hope - what a breathtaking view.
- arriving at the hotel told us this would be a vacation to remember - getting the room - top floor with the most amazing view added even more good karma.
amazing place - friendly staff and overall just great.

Like last year we hiked on Costa Brava, and like last year we stayed for one night in Hotel Aigua Blava. We were flattered to be recognized by the staff. We got other rooms than last year, and they were even better and bigger.

The hotel restaurant is known for its high standard, and we were not disappointed this time either. Food, service and everything was class - And the breakfast had everything you could think of.

We are already planning a longer stay in Hotel Aigua Blava next autumn.

We love the Aigua Blava hotel - it sort of combines the best of old world English hospitality with usually wonderful food from France and Spain. We do find the clientele to be older in the main, and quite a lot of them English, but this seems to be because of the golf in the area, which is certainly true in our case; also, it is not a cheap place to stay so therefore that probably also determines the type of guest; however, at the weekends,it is populated with more families, particularly Spanish as this area of the Costa Brava in the main is a general Spanish holiday area.
We did try half board this time and was slightly disappointed to find there was a set daily menu to choose from as we were looking forward to our Chateaubriand and Beef Wellington which is cooked to perfection here - but the al a carte was still available at a small increase in price if it was desired. As we were in the last week of the season, the hot buffet breakfast was not available but could be ordered without fuss from the waiters and mostly everything else was as it normally is - very good. As compensation we were given an upgraded room with sea view which was breathtaking - a good 'pay back' I decided!

This is not an hotel for backpackers but more for people who want a truly relaxing experience - you don't have to 'share' someone else's taste in music around the pool or hear a hundred different mobile phones ringing and one sided, loud conversations - bliss, away from the rat race. Don't go there if you don't want this!!

Room Tip: This hotel is set within the main building and the grounds so check exactly where you will be locate...

The hotel is in a lovely spot and our room in the main building overlooked the bay. The room was well decorated and the bathroom very good. the staff are excellent very efficient and friendly and generally they speak English. This is probably just as well as we could have been in Newquay it was full of Brits. We were on an Inntravel holiday and had the gastronomic menu one evening which we felt was poor, the other meal we ate there was most enjoyable. I agree with another reviewer you would need a car, even it it's just to feel you're in Spain!
