“Went back to try other dishes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

We were staying in Peratallada for several days, and spent several weeks in Spain. This was our favorite restaurant the whole trip. Not only is the food excellent, the prices are reasonable, and we were not treated like mawkish tourists as in some other places in Spain. We came back the next night to try some other dishes! Steaks are the speciality, but don't miss the duck ham salad!

“Son's 21st - great night!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

We've been to this restaurant before, so were happy to book it to celebrate our son's 21st birthday. It did not disappoint. Food and service were excellent. There were 9 of us and the bill was reasonable. Good value for money. There were plenty of veggie dishes available and the meat-eaters said steak was good.

“Order the steak, fabulous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

Great restaurant in a picture perfect village. We ate outside, reserve a table in advance. I ordererd risotto which was lovely but the steak my husband ordered was amazing. Im planning to o back next year so i can try it then all to myself. The kids had chicken and were happy with that. The cheesecake was quite plain.

“Incredibly rude staff”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

I can't rate the food as we didn't actually eat there. After waiting an age, and being ignored by the staff, we sat down at an outside table and awaited service. A waiter served the table next to ours and then went back into the restaurant without any acknowledgement of our existence. Anmotherstaff member then appeared with a reserved sign which he plonked on the table and muttered something incomprehensible in Spanish before walking off.

Completely confused about what was going on, my father went in, and the staff member then informed us that all the outside tables were reserved, and we could only eat inside. He told my father that we should have asked first before sitting down, which is highly offensive as we waited to be seated for a long while and were completely ignored.

We are not mind readers surprisingly, and without a sign on the table in advance, how are we supposed to know they are reserved? I must admit, I got the distinct impression that we were not the clientele they wanted (because we're British?)

As a result of the rude treatment we got up and left. We then went to La Roca who have been fabulous, friendly and provided excellent service although we are all still incensed that a restaurant could be so dismissive and rude. The TripAdvisor certificate of excellence has obviously gone to their heads.

first of all, thank-you for your opinion.
in our restaurant we take into consideration the negative opinions, we think that these are the way to help us be better, discover errors and proceed to fix them.
in your case, we have no reference of what heppened and would only like to be sure that you really refer to our establishment and not be confused with other terrace/restaurant next to us (i say this because it is very common that other clients come to use the w.c., pay their bills or complaints about the service)
about your mention of english clients, we have no problem with the british. we have plenty of english clients who we apreciate and have the pleasure to attend. also, the maître, is a british native who must have atended you in perfect english.
in any case, our service protocol is the following:
-be atended in the least time before being seated.
-having "reserved" sighns on the tables
-and in the case of sitting at a table already reserved, kindly inform the client and give them other posibilities (i.e. another table inside).
and always in english if you are british.
if really it is our estableshment you mention and the protocol of service hasn´t been applied, we give our sincere sorry and from our side, the manager will try to fix the grave situation with you with hard hand.

“great onion pie...actually it was all great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

One of the best restaurants in the town, we always make a return trip and once again it lived up to expectations. We are a family with big appetites so we always have a starter but tend to hold back on the mains. My personal favourite was the onion pie however the goats cheese salad, the ricotta pasta and the veg lasagna were all excellent. For the mains I went for the pizza (picant) whereas my eldest opted for the steak (14e) the taste was to die for. The rest of the family went for a mix of salt crusted cod, duck and my youngest opted for the burger with caramalised onions....great night out made all the special because they pulled a couple of tables together to make room for us....suggest you make a reservation!
