“Start HERE at the visitors center”

Start your exploration of the battle of Lexington and Concord at the visitors center!!!! I gave it four exclamation points for a reason, the multi media show in the visitors center is short but packs in so much relevant information, the rest of the time you explore any of the sights in the park, you will have a very good overview of what you are seeing and how the events of that time unfold and all fit together. It offers a short 15 minute presentation, very well done, one of my favorite presentations of any place we have visited. So again start at the visitors center and then explore this wonderful walk through history, it is beautiful!

“A great place to brush up on your history!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2011

Minute Man National Historical Park is a great place to brush up on your Revolutionary War history. If you like history of if your 7th grade history lesson is a bit fuzzy you definitely need to stop at this park. The National Park system has taken great care in restoring the buildings and landscape of area between Lexington and Concord. The park is laid out along the old battle road where the 1st shots of the Civil War were fired. The visitors center offers a great 20 minute video about the events of April 18-19, 1775 to refresh your memory then you can either walk the trail or you can drive the road that runs parallel to the park to visit the different areas and buildings. Costumed interpreters give you a day in the life explanation of everyday life and the events of that time. We witnessed the musket demonstration with was fun and informative. The park is not that large and can easily be done in a half day.

“Much more interesting than we expected!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2011

Excellent multi-media show that lasts about a half hour that would keep anyone's attention, even bored older chidren. The show gives great answers to the question of why this site is an important historical site.
Also, we watched two park rangers dressed in historical dress give a talk about why these Colonial soldiers were called "minute men". The highlight of the talk is when the rangers shoot off a historically accurate rifle.
