“Great to Run or Walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

Historic and long enough for a good workout, whether you walk or run. I recommend avoiding the dead of winter unless you have snowshoes; also, if you dislike crowds, avoid leaf-peeping season (September-October) and summer (tourists abound). However, early morning will give you some peace and quiet. A lovely and educational trail dotted with historic farmhouses from which the locals watched (or were engaged in) the British troops march on Concord.

“Battle Road Trail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

Drove this in 2012 & 2002. Took about 5 hours, stopping at each location, wandering along the trail and catching sight of the endearing chipmunks along the way. Some re-enacttments depending on when you visit.

This trail has everything: beautiful scenery, historic sights, reenactors, and a great multi media presentation about the history of the trail that is a GREAT place to start a tour of Massachusetts.

“Great Hike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

This Historic Trail basically covers the route and path that the Minutemen and the British followed from Lexington to Concord for their historic encounter at the Bridge there. It is fairly lengthy but makes for a wonderful leisurely walk if you have the time to do it. There is a Visitor Center along the way and some interesting information can be found within its walls. Enjoy the walk - try to pick a nice day to do it on.
