“Getting Up Close to a Ruin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

The ability to visit one of the cliff dwellings up close without a group tour and no ladders to climb was very appealing. There is a bit of a hike, but there weren't the crowds like at the more famous sites.

“to imagine that people lived here 1200 or more yrs ago”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

hubby and I really enjoyed this trail; it is one of the largest and best preserved cliff dwellings we have seen on this trip

“Hard to believe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

It is had to believe that this is all real. That people really lived here hundreds of years ago. This is easier to get to than Cliff Place and very similiar only smaller. Awesome

“Visit Marred By School Kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

Easier to get to than Cliff Palace or Balcony House. Has had much "rebuilding", so doesn't seem as authentic as the others. The day we visited there was a school class there (10 year olds), who were running amok, mostly unsupervised. The totally dominated the re-built kiva that you can go down in. It would have been nice if the rangers or teachers would have controlled things better. So, while Spruce Tree House is really neat, we hit it at a bad time, which made our visit not so great.

“If you have more time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

Do not see this in place of either the Palace or the Cliff House. It's not bad as an addition to either, but not near as interesting.
