“A good sleep in la Heradurra”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

An incredibly friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel offers a good night in a simple room with ensuite bathroom. The rooms and bathrooms are spotlessly clean. The rate is very reasonable.

The buffet breakfast caters for all breakfast needs, fruit, cerals, cold buffet and hot buffet. Proper coffee from fresh ground beans, not American warm, coloured water!

I would stay again if I needed a bed in la Heradurra. There are apparently a couple of shockers in town.

Room Tip: I think the rooms on the east side may be quieter than those on the west side facing Calle Acera del...

This hotel a couple of blocks from the sea offers lots of things you wouldn't expect at the low rates they charge, like free fast Wi-Fi and free breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the cleaning staff leave the rooms in immaculate condition, and the beds are firm and big (yet don't overwhelm the room). There's room in the minibar fridge for your own drinks, and you can rent a room safe by the day. There was also a balcony in the room we had with a sea view, plus a rooftop patio for reading or napping.

Room Tip: The higher the better, since it can be noisy in the nearby bars and restaurants on weekends.

I ate at this hotel. It was their Sunday midday Buffet, but I think they offer this every day. The food was great. 10 euros include my drinks! There was a great selection of Spanish food and desert including an amazing Paella.
The hotel was unfortunately full so I didnt stay there, but the staff were so polite and friendly!! I cant wait to get back and will be staying at this hotel which is just steps from the beach and the old part of town.
It looked exceptionally clean and neat and by far the best value hotel in Town.

We have stayed in this Hotel a few times now, using it to have a final blast of summer well after the autumn has come to the UK. The hotel is small, friendly and clean. The staff are helpful and welcoming. At the time of the year we have visited it has never been very full and it very much adds to the out of season relaxed atmosphere. The funny thing is, outside the weather is still giving you what you would be proud of in July back home. Hop over to Malaga on a plane after the kids have gone back to school, you will love it.

La Herradura is really a rare flower in the concrete jungle of "Costa del sol", actually and more correctly situated on the "Costa Tropical" - Granada, a bit further east of Malaga. The almost "tropical" bay which forms like a horse shoe (therefore the name "La Herradura") is unique because of its unspoilt purity, lack of large building constructions and with the closeness of the surrounding hills and ridges forming the mountain range of Sierra Nevada some km further east. Almijara is one of the few in-city hotels and looks fairly new and well kept. My family and I stayed there for a full week a while ago and were quite satisfied with the rooms and general level of service. We got a good deal on a half-pension, but unfortunately the poor quality of the buffet dinner did not make it worthwhile to put in the extra money. There are a lot of restaurants in close vicinity to the hotel and most of them serve free "tapas" when ordering something to drink, which is a friendly and cost saving custom in the Granada region of the Spanish "sun coast".

La Herradura has always been a favourite place to stay, and the Hotel Almijara is the perfect base for any visit to this pretty working town by the sea. The Hotel is modern and the staff always very attentive. Rooms are large, well equipped and well decorated. The Hotel rating of three stars is definitely on the low side and probably influenced by the fact that there is no swimming pool. Don't let this fact put you off as the sea is a 2 minute walk away. There are many excellent places to eat and drink within a stones throw of the Hotel, and all still adhere to the age old tradition of free tapas with your drinks.

Room Tip: Get a high floor for the views, to the front there are beautiful views of the bay, and to the back y...

stopped over for a short stay in October, we were en-route around the coast, requested to see the room and this was not a problem - nice gracious staff, the room was so spacious, nicely decorate and spotless with a lovely bathroom, the balcony was overlooking the street and had a side view of the bay. The evening meal was buffet style with a good variety, and so enjoyable, breakfast was on the roof terrace and a pleasant surprise with eggs and bacon too, a very peaceful place to enjoy your breakfast !
i just loved this resort.

Room Tip: Our room was on to the street - no problem with noise, and a side view of the bay - had an unexpect...
