“And great way to spend an hour or two”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

A simple and very informative castle. Well done and good information all along the tour. A great view of the area and some basic history of the countryside. A nice way to get some information and spend some slack time. One caution it's not open all day so check out the hours.

“worth the hike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

loved it and the journey there, through the cobbled (ascending!) streets - not easy to encounter though and make sure you know the opening hours.

“Small but remarkable collection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Some very old artefacts; wonderful marble and alabaster vases; some very fine busts. Stronger on quality than quantity. The floor is a metal grid enabling you to look down into ancient building debris but not so easy if you walk with a stick.

“Interesting but very small...combine with trip to Castillo San Miguel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

We visited the Castillo San Miguel first and were informed our tickets would allow is entrance into this museum as well. So after the castle we took the short (5-minute) walk over the museum. It is a series of seven vaults built in Phonecian times. The floor is exposed so you can see the foundation of the building, and artifacts are displayed in glass cases. It's very interesting but tiny, unless you are a real archeology buff it will only take 10-20 minutes. Worth visiting as in conjunction with the castle.
