“Delightful hotel in delightful town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

We wanted a 5 day break incorporating a day’s trip to the Alhambra so as Lanjaron was half was between the coast and Granada and only a few minutes off the motorway we chose this town and hotel and what wonderful choices they were. I asked for a room with a view and it was at the top of the new block which had stunning views over the countryside, was spotlessly clean, had tea making equipment, a fridge and best of all a little balcony which caught the evening sun. The bathroom had a shower and a bath. The hotel itself has a very strong Moorish influence with lots of sweet little courtyards furnished with tables and chairs, often nicely shaded. We were on half board which was excellent , the food was delicious and plentiful and the house wine was very drinkable and excellent value at 7 E a bottle. Bar and restaurant service was efficient and charming. Breakfast was also good with plenty of choice.
Dinner was served under a canopy outside which was very atmospheric, the only niggle being that as it was outside people could smoke at neighbouring tables which was unpleasant on several occasions. We thought the outside restaurant would benefit from a non smoking area.
The pool was large, clean and inviting – much nicer than the official photo shows, and we spent far more time beside and in it than we had planned.
Lanjaron itself was a charming hill town with good local walks and cafes.

Room Tip: New block rooms excellent and top floor has fabulous views

we were only here for 1 night as we were splitting up a holiday with lots of different places to visit, we were not disappointed, the young man who checked us in was very friendly (could be wrong but assumed he was family as the lady was not so friendly not really engaging on checking in or out) anyway the room . was lovely with a view over the pool and towards the ruined castle. Booked a meal for the evening but was disappointed with the menu, know it is spain but no steak on the menu and after a week self catering my husband was really looking forward to a steak! on leaving e next day realised how close we where to the town centre and all of the tapas restaurants, we definitely do this next time . on checking out we walked up to the ruined castle, it was well worth the trip. we will be coming back

Lovely hotel, good food, friendly staff, very clean. Pool clean. Lovely village with amazing views. Stayed here for 1 week and cannot recommend this hotel enough. We are a couple with a 2 year old who loved this holiday. Food may be more pricey than in the town but you defiantly get what you pay for and the portions were fantastic.

This was our third stay here, the previous one about 10 years when it got its third star. During this time the family have spent time and effort doing more improvements. The gardens around the hotel are beautiful and peaceful and the room we had was spacious, tastefully finished and unusually for Spain had tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge and of course the view was lovely. The town also has a happy atmosphere with a lovely shaded high street. Easy to get to Granada and the rest of the Alpujarras. We will back very soon as it is only one and a half hours drive from our house near Competa.

Room Tip: Rooms in the newly refurbished building are very good.

We stayed two days in this hotel during our trip through Andalusia.
This is a unique, beautiful and awesome hotel. The people are very friendly and their restaurant is amazing.
The rooms a large, clean and all with a nice sized balcony.
The view from the balcony is beautiful as at the rest of the hotel.
Very nice swmmingpool, stunning gardens and the hotel it self is also very pretty and cozy.
If you go to Andalsia, go to this hotel, it's just 30 minutes from Granada and is based in a beautiful surrounding up in the hills.
Strange thing is that this is a 3 stars hotel, maybe because you don't have a bath but "only" a great well build & sized beautiful bathroom with a great working, not leaking, clean shower.
We also stayed in 4 stars hotels, but to be honest, they didn't even come close to the quality and the beauty of this great hotel!

Room Tip: All rooms are great and with a nice balcony. Include breakfast and dinner, the restaurant is amazing...

We stayed at the Alcadima from the 13th to 19th June 2013. Everything was perfect for us. A large number of us had flown to Spain for a celebration and many of us stayed at the Alacadima. recommended by our friends who were holding the celebration at their mountain finca.
The hotel is family owned and run and nothing was too much bother for the warm and friendly staff. The youngest member of the family, Gonzalo, speaks perfect English, having just returned from Bristol University.

The hotel is set on a hillside with stunning views over the surrounding hills and the fortress of Lanjaron. The bluest swimming pool is surrounded by semi tropical gardens and lovely outdoor eating & drinking spaces. The bar, breakfast room and indoor restaurant are comfortable and decorated in a Spanish rustic style. Our bedroom was large with air conditioning in the late afternoon through to 1am if required. The balcony overlooked the colourful grounds and pool. Our bed was large and comfortable and the room was serviced daily and everything refreshed. The television, unusually for a hotel outside of the UK, provided BBC 1 as well as other English speaking services.

The kitchen staff often provided late evening meals for groups of more than 20 of us without any fuss and were always good natured and enthusiastic. Lanjaron is well known for its springs which attract visiitors to its spa and to the beautiful surrounding countryside.

Before our tour of Granada we were recommended this very pleasant family run hotel in Lanjaron by our tour organizers Walks in Spain. An excellent choice of hotel. The rooms are modest, clean and well equipped with fridge and tv (bath tub on the small side). We were recommended to take half board with dinner included and boy was the food good. Great choice of home cooking and served by very friendly family/staff. We traveled in May and the option of having a good sized pool was a delight.

Room Tip: Rooms high up overlooking the pool have the best views
