Loved our stay at Hotel Guadalupe, mainly because of the room given which had a huge terrace overlooking the Alhambra [the main reason to visit Granada]. When we visited 'downtown' were very glad to be staying near Alhambra, in fact chose to go back there to eat as restaurant better quality & value.There is a regular mini bus service which also took us into the old moorish quarter 'Albayzin' , so the location was very convenient, not only for visiting the Alhambra but also the rest of Granada. But it was the fabulous terrace [& room/bathroom] that made our stay here so enjoyable. Very reasonably priced too.

The location for visiting the Alhambra can't be better. Staff was very friendly and helpfull and the restaurant was outstanding! Going to the city center you walk down for 10 minutes. Walking back is a rather steep climb. However there is a minibus service (every 5 minutes) almost in front of the hotel.

loved this place, the bathrooms are way nicer than the room ( more up to date) but the location is great, staff was very friendly, nice restaurant in the hotel, and the rooms were clean and nice, the bathroom was really nice, great shower! from the hotel you can see the property of the alhambra and its in a great area, you can also take a bus downtown to the shops. great place and amazing price.

Stayed at hotel Guadalupe one night in December 2008 while visiting Alhambra.

ROOM
We stayed in a standard double room. The room was nicely decorated, and there were a mini-bar as well as a small flat screen TV (only one English tv-channel thoug – CNN). The bed was nice though it was a bit hard, but I recon this is standard in Spain after haven stayed at several hotels having the same experience.

LOCATION
The location is excellent when visiting Alhambra. There is 50 meters to the main entrance, so you can visit early in the day when it is very beautiful with the sun rising. And you will avoid the climb up the mountain for the visit.

If you visit Granada, you might want to find a hotel in the city it self though, the walk up the hill is tough.

SERVICES
There were a PC with free internet in the lobby, which was working fine. The breakfast (at 10 EUR incl. tax) ok but no more, there is definitely room for improvements here.

Check-in and check-out was fast. The hotel uses the Alhambra parking area (area 1 which is closest to the entrance). The price is 13 EUR/24h with a coupon from the hotel. You can enter the parking space on arrival (just take a ticket at the entrance), and when you leave you need to validate the ticket in the manual office showing a cupon from the hotel.

All-in-all we found the hotel to be a good option when visiting Alhambra only. We payed 50 EUR/night which was a fair price for this hotel.
