“Great adventure walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2014

You can catch bus 183 from Granada to Monachil (last bus stop), walk through town, up the hill to begin this trail (sign posted - keep stream on your right going through the town). The hanging bridges are great. The lower trail is very scenic. There's some tight squeezes to crawl or crouch through. Handles on the rocks to hang off to get around overhanging rocks so not suitable for toddlers. Waterfalls and rock pools to admire. The trail goes up to ski fields but when you reach a clearing you can cross a small suspension bridge and come back over the hill and get views of Granada. I went back on the lower trail because it is so beautiful. It's a place used to train people for rock climbing so cliffs are spectacular. Allow 3 hours. Unspoilt and spectacular. Give it a go!

“Great walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

The hanging bridges were exciting to cross and it was really great inching our way along the ledge by the watercourse. On the way back there was a spectacular waterfall bursting out of the mountain above us.

“A great afternoon outside Granada”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

I found this walk whilst searching things to do around Granada.

What I read convinced me to do it and I certainly don't regret it. The walk is very easy (lower walk), peaceful & beautiful.

Don't park on the road outside Monachil but drive into the path that goes down, you will reach a bar/restaurant where you can easily park, it will avoid you to climb uphill after the walk!

“spectacular canyon hike”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

Our hotel suggested this walk, and we did it in the afternoon. It is a loop tour, but the part through the hills and farmland is in my opinion more exercise than joy. It took over two hours, but I didn't time it because we started and ended in our hotel, which its an extra 2-3 km. You can park your car next to the start/finish. The first part in the canyon is spectacular, and in some parts you have to hold handles in the rock to make the passage. I had to crawl too several times, and I definitely wouldn't advice to do this part when you are easily scared or with very young children. But the first part with the hanging bridges is nice too. People were playing in the water, and cliff climbing when we were there. It probably is "the coolest place" in Monachil.

“Spectacular walking tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

The walking route through the valley is spectactular. Also good to do with children from about 10 years old. During weekends it is more busy at the entrance of the valley where locals go cliff-climbing.
